Hi,
I am producing 'piano" music with VSTs. (MDA piano and Proteus X VSTs)

When I bring a VST instrument into Ableton, it produces an unwanted "thumping" sound each time a note is hit. I am experiencing this with all instruments I try.

I have turned down velocity to almost nothing and it still ...

I read that the colors of the velocity handles are supposed to be different shades from each other depending on if they are high or low velocity.
My velocity handles are always the same color pink, no matter what their position.

I run Live 7 on Windows XP.

We used an inexpensive Yamaha keyboard to record midi on a track.
The keyboard has velocity control and we believe the keyboard had the velocity control turned on when we recorded.
