Thanks so much! I had already tried some other ways (eg. cmd+1 etc), but I just tried your suggestion and it worked, Thanks!

how narrow can I have the grid in ableton lite?
Hi,
the smallest I can seem to get it is one bar (in the arrangement view), but I'd just like to cut a couple of beats from the end of a track, not a whole bar.
In the clip view the grid lines are much closer, but I can't seem to edit there.
Thanks!

Re: beginner help with putting track onto disc pls
Thanks,
I guess this is the level thing under master - it's flickering in green as the track plays. It sometimes goes up to the little line and arrowhead, but it never goes red in the whole track.
If that's what you mean, could it still be too high??

Hi, I'm just doing my first project on Ableton and a beginner with music software, so please excuse obvious questions... So I've managed to make something I'm quite happy with (recorded myself playing different tracks acoustically) - I like it listening through my headphones and also listening throu...

beginner help for recording audio
Hi, I just had a question - I'm trying out the lite version and I just recorded myself, trying something out for a project. I've therefore just discovered that on my lite version I can only have a max of 4 audio tracks and 2 plug-in-effects things. Is there a way to overdub audio on one track? I've ...

Re: help for beginner pls - loops
Hi again and thanks for the replies! I tried to select the clip and drag it over to the session view button, but this doesn't seem to work. When I'm in session view and press play I can hear the clip and see the sound level go up and down, but it says "no clip selected" in the box at the b...

Re: help for beginner pls - loops
Hi there, sorry it's taken so long to reply (have been away with work), but I hope someone can see what I'm doing wrong... Here is (hopefully) a screenshot of the right ableton window: http://i750.photobucket.com/albums/xx144/spaghetti_monster_72/ableton/abletonscreenshot.jpg just to recap - my clip...

Nothing is red as far as I can see.....
I was just clicking on the play button to play the clip and both Loop and Warp boxes are yellow.

Re: General beginner advice please...
Thanks for replies! As for what I would use it for, I'd probably start from where I am now - recording myself (like I do with loop station). Maybe then also with other musicians I play with, maybe then with pre-recorded acoustic samples. I'm quite open to just getting started and seeing where it tak...

General beginner advice please...
Hi, I just wanted to ask some learned opinions as I'm about to buy some new software/hardware.... I previously had an MBox (with protools) and a version of ableton that came with it. I'm a professional musician (acoustic), very interested in broadening out what I do, but somewhat computer-challenged...
