Re: Random glitches with Motu 828x thunderbolt
I'm having the same problems. Very frustrating. All other MOTU products I've used are rock solid.

Lots of Crashes
Im working with 8.4 b8 and I'm getting a lot of crashes on startup. If I open a session before Live is running I will almost always get a crash. I just tried opening Live while Logic was open and Live crashed both. I'm also using jBridge to run my 32 bit plugins. I've noticed a bunch of hiccups with...

No change. Restarted Live after Alt+Rescan too.[tow] wrote:Could you try a plug-in rescan from scratch via [alt]+Rescan and check if this makes a difference compared to the usual rescan?

in fact, the actual VST and AU folders don't show up at all, just the AU folder contents/plugins.

Re: Rendering Audio Bypassing Master
Correct. In order to render you must sum the audio. To create a stereo file, the audio must be combined. This is done with the master track. If you don't want to use the effects on the master track, then turn them off. If you want some of your tracks going through the effects on the master track and...

Re: Rendering Audio Bypassing Master
I depends how you route them. By default the returns are going to the master... So yes master effects will be applied to everything.

Re: Rendering Audio Bypassing Master
Send the External Out tracks to a return post fader. Send the return to the master. Now everything is going to the master, all your automation will be intact and it's easy to undo... just mute the return when you want to go back to External Outs.

Re: Rewiring Live and Cubase---anyone with experience?
When using rewire to link two programs there is always a master and a slave. The master controls tempo, playback, playback location etc. The master always gets audio from the slave. There is no way to send audio from the master to the slave. To use Live's devices/effects you would have to have your ...

Just use the external instrument device within an instrument rack. I just layered 3 reason instruments within the same midi track.

when it cuts out does the volume meter in Live cut out as well?
You are going to have to find the broken link. Usually its bad hardware. a cable, DI, interface etc.

Re: Help. Samples offline
That means Live can't find them. Either the samples have moved, renamed or deleted.
There is the orange dialog box at the bottom of Live giving you that message.
Click it. Now a help pane is viewable on the right. You can search ans relink the missing files.

Find some videos on creating or recreating songs and patches. You will learn a lot by watching how someone else creates songs or sounds. Copy them and make your own tweaks along the way.

Increase Ableton's syncability
Two things: MTC out. I love that Live can receive MTC but I use Live on stage and want to trigger a Digi Venue and Light board to have mixing and lighting automation synced with the music. Right now I have to rewire a 3rd party app to send MTC and it doesnt always play nice. When using 2 sessions of...
