Got the Akai MPK Mini Knobs to work in Live/Default Settings

Have seen that many folks seems to have problems getting the knobs on the Akai MPK Mini to map in Live, myself included. Here's what worked for me in 8.2.2, pretty easy. Go to Options/Preferences/Midi Sync and look for the Input: MPK Mini in the "Midi Ports" area. Make sure that the box fo...

Re: VST not showing up

Are you running Home Premium 64Bit? I am running that and find that I have a few VST's that don't show up (IK Multimedia).

Love Live, but I hope that Ableton gets on the bandwagon with a 64Bit OS sometime soon. I have 12Gb of RAM now, and just don't want to turn back. :-)

Re: EIC 2 & Session Drums presets are no longer available

Glad I'm not the only one trying to sort out the V8 Suite library.

Came across this link on how to install the Live 7 Legacy Pack: http://www.abeaddict.com/node/130

New Drivers for the FW-1884 posted

Good news if you're an owner of the still beloved FW-1884. The Vista 64 problems have been solved, as well as support for Windows 7.

Here's the link for the drivers: http://tascamforums.com/index.php?showtopic=20021

They work great for me with Live 8, Vista 64 (with 12 Gb RAM!).

Enjoy!

SOLVED! Stylux RMX, Vista 64, Live 8...Crash

CASE CLOSED! Somehow, I recalled that the upgrade to Stylus 1.8 (and 1.7 I think as well) provided both a 64 bit and 32 bit driver. So, WAS using the 64 bit driver. Switched to the 32 bit driver. All is golden. Re-extracted the drivers just to make sure I didn't somehow switch them around. I did hav...

I'm pretty enthused too..I used to use P5 quite a bit, but Live seemed to move in an take over. Live and Sonar are my main tools now, but P5V2 is looking pretty strong. I spent a lot of time with Kinetic until Stylus RMX came along. I think Cakewalk is pretty good in general. I get down to Chicago e...

Excellent article on using Live and Sonar

I love using Live and Sonar together, I find each complements the other very well. If you're interested in the two together, or if you use another DAW with Live, you might like this article/masterclass by Craig Anderton in this months Sound on Sound: http://www.soundonsound.com/sos/apr05/articles/so...

A few nice resources

I can across this link from a post last year, I love it! http://www.looknohands.com/chordhouse/piano/ Also, got a GREAT book last month: "Dance Music Manual: Toys, tools, and techniques" by Ric Snoman. Great for anybody that records anything with Live, not just dance music. http://www.amaz...

Re: The enemy has been found and thwarted!

Since others here had no problems I decided to make systematic inquire to see if I could get rid of the problem. And I could. The earlier sync problems I have had has been becuase of not setting things up correctly and difficult material (I already knew that) but now that I was pretty sure things w...

As you've seen by all the previous replies, it eventually boils down to what's right for you. Since I own both PC and Mac, I don't consider myself a bigot in either direction...the systems work fine for what I need them to do. That said, here's my rough analogy. I look at the CURRENT line of Mac Pow...

Re: Why use a G4?

Could someone explain to me why I see a lot of Mac's on performances? Is there any special reason I should know about? I'm asking this because of the price difference between say a G4 and an A64 laptop.. It's huge! Performance wise not worth the money if you ask me.. So I'm thinking, why do I see a...

You ought to make a tutorial on how you put it together, I bet folks would love to know how.

Great work, enjoyed it quite a bit!
