Editors are pretty few and far between on the Mac. A search of this forum will turn up specific pros/cons to the following: Cheap: http://www.felttip.com/products/soundstudio/ http://www.hairersoft.com/Amadeus.html Great for the money: http://www.i3net.it/Products/dspQuattro/Asp/DemoDownload_EN.asp?...

I for one think it's really nice of him to offter to back up Ableton Live 4 for me.

I just wonder if I can get him to clean the garage and pick up the dog shit in the yard when he's completed the backing up.

If you haven't done this try zapping the PRAM. Also, from the Apple discussion forum a tip on resetting the firewire port: "Shutting down your Mac and disconnecting your firewire cable from both ends and letting it sit about half an hour then reconnect and try. Also disconnect the AC power, thi...

Tom Waits used everything from a bull horns to a Battery operated voice gun. If you're going to use eq and a mic you might try an Sm 57. If you get up close it'll capture (depending on the singer) a fair amount of sweet midrangy crust that you can fine tune with the eq. You can also hit a chest of d...

I would suspect a 3rd party vst or vsti. Try pulling them out and launching. If it seems to fix it you can replace them one by one and try to locate the offending plug or instrument. Also, if Live was running fine before you might try and recall any plugs you installed around the time Live started m...

If you decide to update to 10.3.8 make sure you don't have the Macally drivers that caused this disturbing problem for some: http://discussions.info.apple.com/webx?14@300.qaVSaljxPjo.1@.68a64b1e/13 I recalled this from checking for possible probs when I did the update. I didn't have the drivers and ...

I too am running 10.3.8 with no probs. I believe you may even notice a speed bump in some areas (Safari for one) If you decide to go for it I'd recommend downloading the combo updater and installing it from the hard drive rather than doing an auto update. Also, repairing permissions before and after...
