Re: We really need to buy third party plugins for compression ?
I am surprised that no one has said this yet, but the type of compressor you require can often be influenced by the type of music you write. Re: Samplitude user disses Live as 'shit for mixing in' at GS
I have to say that I do find that when mixing in live (version 7) that sometimes certain things sound different in realtime compared to my master mix. Instruments or effects cut in louder or softer in the wav bounce down than in the realtime play back.

Re: demo of live 8 has messed up my live 7 settings, please help
A back up??? Not sure what you mean.... I didn't think it would be necessary since live 8 is past beta testing and on sale. I had no reason to think it would mess up live 7...
I downloaded 7.16 again from ableton's website and replaced the old version, but this did not fix anything....

demo of live 8 has messed up my live 7 settings, please help
I tried out a demo of live 8 but have decided to stick with 7 for the moment..
Now when I use 7.16 I can't use some midi effects like chords... Plus my internal instrument library is the live 8 version.
How do I get back full use of my midi effects and return my instrument library to it original ...
