On my second VAIO with no real problems. You can get deals if you dig around. Picked up my last one on the Sony site in the clearance section a couple of years back. Apparently they sometimes sell laptops configured by someone who ultimately canceled the order after it was built but before it shippe...

Agreed. The last two patches have introduced more instability into Live than I've experienced in a long time.

Looks good. Will try it out, thanks. Might I suggest that you reconsider the typography you use for your headings? Looks cool, but I've given up trying to read it. Life's too short.

I'm trying to remember how I originally heard about Live. It was likely the Monolake connection. I must have read an interview with Henke or Behles where something was mentioned about the program's pending release.

I beta tested the pre-release of version 1 as well. From the first time I opened the program, it felt so much more natural than any experience I'd had with Cubase VST or Acid *cringes* up to that point. I was so stoked about session view that I did everything I could to spend as much time there as p...

Think for a second about what you are saying: 1.7 million is nearly twice the current population of the city of Detroit. At its peak in the 1950's, Detroit was home to less than 2 million people. (Not the metro area, mind you, but the city itself) Or consider this: Record attendance for Jazzfest, wh...

Thanks for sharing this. I still find myself doing a lot of work with clip envelopes in session as a quick way of creating variations and roughly blocking out soon-to-be arrangements. A couple of questions for Robert: 1. Can we ever hope to see looped waveform display for unlinked envelopes? This wo...

Fair enough. I watched a video of Shocklee at the Red Bull thing ages ago. Not sure if it's the same thing as the podcast you mentioned. Pretty entertaining. When I've seen/heard him speak, he's managed a pretty good balance of self-confidence bordering on arrogance (justified, of course) with a des...
