CPU spikes, major issues, is ableton usable ?

I just got back into using live, Version 7. started from Version 4....paid for the upgrade as i have time to get back into music production yay.... anyway I'm having a lot of trouble trying to make a track,just one or two Vsts max out the cpu and the playback of audio at various points in the track ...

i mean being able to view the session mixer style in arrange more like a trad workflow... so it would flow downwards eg arranger,instrument,mixer

or being able to have both views open at the same time would be good, i got dual lcds the workflow would be even better..

Bug: mixer & I/O not closed by default in arrange

logic is a multi threaded application and written for the Mac live is not...it is clear from all the benchmark tests that your dual G5 is going to run average.

you got a vst on that track so the midi can play something ? midi is just data not sound,drag a vst onto the track which has then midi then click the play button

could be a prob with Nforce 4 chipset, there is known problems with this in relation to audio dropouts...

add a midi track then on the track there is midi input, select the drop down menu and u will see it there, select it and add a vst to ur track and it should work...
