Re: Making sounds sound smoother

Compressing will help too since it will essentially level out the volume. Also add reverb.

Re: Freeze tracks with sidechained compressors on

I would rather prefer an efficient freeze track before this.
I avoid it so much now, I rather prefer recording audio to another track.
then I can use compressor on the audio track with the recorded clip.

For some instruments it really doesn't work well with freeze and flatten to audio. [Session ...

Re: complex pro as default warp mode

They should have it as an option still though. Ya it's easy to change multiple clips to complex pro mode but it's an extremely simple tweak they could make available to save us time. Little things like that add up and take away from the creative process. The way I see it, the less stuff like that ...

Re: complex pro as default warp mode

There must have been a reason behind them not allowing this, like too much cpu usage or something. Which is still lame though.

Re: On/Off Macro

Make it so that when you map a device's on/off button to a macro, the macro turns into a switch instead of the standard rotary knob.

That would be nice to have just that slight visual difference. Good call.

Ya, or not even change the knob, just make it say on or off below the knob rather than 0 ...

Re: Freeze tracks with sidechained compressors on

Like I said, it's a workaround you can use until they change the feature. Obviously not ideal and yes it does cause clutter. Being able to group groups is also something I desire. A workaround for that is turning the output of the group track to sends only and then you can send multiple groups to ...

Re: Freeze tracks with sidechained compressors on

A workaround until then would be to group the track and then put the sidechain on the group track and remove it from the original track. Then you can freeze the original track that is inside the group without any issues.

Re: Portamento Question

Sorry Im just getting around to responding to this. Thanks for the answers guys. There's an easier way to do it on other vst's/synths but I think Ableton might just not offer it. The second suggestion might work but it's not ideal. The first one wouldnt work because the pitch would need to go up or ...

Portamento Question

Is it possible in Operator to use the portamento feature and not have the notes overlapping each other? I'm trying to make it so that even if there's space inbetween notes the portamento will still happen. I can do this on other synths no problem I just havent figured out how on operator. Thanks!

Re: Plugin Rescan button

For somebody like you that would definitely work better than my idea. Maybe a "scan for new VST" button would be the best suit. That way it would only look for an added VST and not touch any of the ones that it scanned at startup. More control in general over the VST plugins would help a lot and ...

Plugin Rescan button

A button somewhere when you are looking at the plugins from the browser that will rescan the plugins. I am aware that this is in the options, but would be very convenient and probably not hard to add a button so that you wouldn't have to go all the way to the options every time to rescan.

Mashup/Remix Question

I have found Ableton to be a great program for making mashups. I have one problem sometimes though. I've been mashing up some acapellas with some electro house music lately. Since the Electro was mastered without ever having vocals on it, I find that sometimes the acapellas are drowned out too much ...

Simulating a turntable winding down/stopping?

Is there a VST that can simulate a turntable winding down or hitting the stop button? Thanks!
