How is the combo coming? I just took my spark out of the box and have ableton ar well

I program and operate Lighting consoles for a living, and have been using touchscreens for over 10 years..... they are good in a programming settings, like in the studio, BUT in a live performance setting, you can't focus your eyes at one screen all the time, you need to be able to grab it and look ...

I program lighting desks, and have been using trackballs every since, Im a big fan of them, generally, the heavier the ball (think centipede), the better.... I have recommended them for years, but most people never give them a chance. They are especially handy if you don't have much desk space to us...

Anyone in here practice?

I Have the downloaded version of 7, I want the boxed version of Suite 8.... is it possible to upgrade, or do I have to repurchase?

Thanks for all the replies... I will concentrate on Ableton first since I don't currently have a copy of Reason, my goal is to make a live set (to play live, that is), so manipulate-ability is more important than ultimate sound quality.

I am looking at stepping up and getting some education on Ableton, I have never used the built-in instruments in the program and figures I would just make loops with Reason and import.... Is there advantages in using these vs. Reason? All thoughts, comments, and bashings are welcome.

I'm a stagehand in vegas were I have lived for 28 years now, I can say, that this job is a great one and if I was qualified, I would take it myself..... I'm the lighting type though.... Living here is not bad at all, just stay away from the gambling and you will be fine!!

I installed a 7200/320 myself, it gets hot like usual but it doesn't seem to run any hotter... or any faster with Live....
