Using post fader sends w/ tracks in a group that is muted
Here's something that I recently discovered. When you group tracks in live, the group output level affects the level of the individual channel post fader sends. http://i.imgur.com/mVFLdgI.png This isn't a very intuitive way for the busses to work. This means that each group essentially has it's own ...

Re: Arduino MIDI controller w/ 10 encoders, LCD + RGB buttons
The buttons underneath the encoders are RGB LED, so there's plenty of feedback. I plan on making the far left encoder for navigating different functions of the controller (selecting between mackie hui, ableton device, synth control, etc) as well as the other parameters (LED brightness, etc). The fou...

Re: Arduino MIDI controller w/ 10 encoders, LCD + RGB buttons
hm, 9.5 inch equals approx. 24 cm, if i am no mistaken. seems like a more than generous size for fitting 8 encoders in a row. maybe those buttons in the sketchup are a little out of scale? The limit on the spacing of the encoders comes from the size of the LCD. It's 40x2 characters, and I haven't b...

Arduino MIDI controller w/ 10 encoders, LCD + RGB buttons
http://i.imgur.com/g8nZ0UH.jpg I've been kicking this idea around for a while and am finally settling on a design for a controller that I'm going to build. I am finishing the PCB design and before I have it printed I want to gauge the interest of other people to see if I should just make one or two...

Re: 8 channel project, Max-arduino- Sparkfun RGB LED code etc
How difficult would it be to use this patch/session but with MIDI output instead of arduino? I'd love to try this with my ColorSynths.

Re: Record Enable Button: Right Click- "KEEP AUTOMATION"
+1 please, and also apply it to recording audio in a way where I can adjust the sends and volume levels without it being recorded. When tracking a vocalist this can be pretty annoying.

Quick and dirty video demo of MIDI lights in Ableton
http://eric.frap.net/images/csp.jpg http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ll_WaL5d0po I play drums in a shoegaze/post-rock band called Tracing Figures , and we use Ableton for real time vocal FX and sequenced synths/drum machines. I play to a click track for each song, which is sequenced within Ableton. T...

Re: Horrible gig shenanigans - anyone know about electricity?
Check the fuses on the amps themselves. By "power bar" do you mean power strip? You should probably not plug all of your amps into one 15A circuit, this is gigging 101.

Anyone with a Hi-Z input on their interface want to chime in on the difference in sound quality between using it vs a standard 1/4" preamp input?

Re: saving the state umenu items
Ah yes that's the confusion, my method is assuming that you are going to poll and update the contents of umenu when the patch loads. The patch I developed this for pulls the track names from the live set and populates the umenu with them.

I think many engineer's out there could benefit from the waves uninstaller, I think it would improve their mixes greatly!
