I used to hear about versions of windows you could install that would boot only the apps you want?

Altiverb is the best. by far. it's really too good. and you might wanna have a dedicated computer just to run that alone. massive CPU hog, but like i said, it is the best.

looks like the end of the fucking road then. I'm not gonna buy a laptop without firewire, and i'm not gonna buy a huge 15" laptop just so i can have firewire.

yeah, we're pretty much "eff'd". If there was a team of programmers that could legally sell drivers for audio/midi interfaces in linux, it wouldn't be too hard for Ableton to get on board. People need to start pushing for it because this never ending battle with apple and microsoft is rapi...

Problem #1. I'll never pay good money for a laptop that doesn't have firewire. Problem #2. I'll never buy a 15" computer because it's too big. Problem #3. Sorry apple you just lost me as a customer. I think everyone needs to start crowding towards Linux and start pressing Ableton to support it....

if apples going to remove firewire ports from there new macbooks. I think I'm' going to be on of the 50% of customers they're going to lose.
