I ´didnt experience such problem as yours, but it should be possible to drag the sounds of this song from the file browser(hopefully you have saved the song selfcontained and know in which folder you have the sounds)

You have to stop playback before deleting
I think you´ve got to stop audio playback, delete the midi plugin/instrument and after that delete the midi track.
I also had problems deleting a midi track with Arturia Moog Modular plugged in (crash).
