Re: Too late to buy a Push 2? - Never mind I bought one.
keep the old as a backup. i have both... the 2 in the studio, the 1 on stage and when on the road. the old gets all the rock and roll life (played outdoor yestrtday night, under a pine...) and the new one enjoys the conforts of a quiet studio life.

Re: Novation Launch control xl doesn't work at the first touch

Then I have to press the user template button , again press the factory template button and once more user template button, and then it works. This is rea...

not collaboratin with other producers -i was stuck in my square meter. With the years I learnt the benefits of having other people in my studio, learning from each other.

Re: Creating Roland PG program perameters
those oldschool synths require sysex - you need a workaround:
viewtopic.php?f=1&t=196485
i used to have an alpha juno 2 and i could program it with the ctrtl.org panel via a novation nocturn.

trust link, network cable between the 2 comps and you're set. I have already performed live on stage with 2 laptops, LAN cable and LINK.

Re: Link Jam
I'm surprised more people aren't really excited about Link. me too. i've read nothing negative at all on it... and störgeräusche's set above is a perfect example of how it can be used... i wish it would have existed 5-10 years ago when i was really putting serious effort into making music. I am als...

Re: Link Jam
I confirm that just a LAN cable between 2 computers will work -since several years the ethernet ports on laptops are self-switching so you don't even need to bother to get a crossover cable. Edit: tried w/ macbook pro - win laptop / mac - mac / win - win. it just works. I haven't tried to LINK 3 com...

Re: Link Jam
i had several LINK jams already, in the studio with desktops, latpos and iOS devices and on live on stage once with just 2 laptops, with both WiFi and LAN cables. I was immediately impressed by LINK, as you don't even need to setup latency compensation as opposed to MIDI, and the freedom from master...

these threads make me feel like a cave man still using a six years old i7 (see signature)
which never gives me an issue -but still, i realize that i won't be able to use it another 6 years as a main studio machine.

do not sign with them, if your music is interesting for one label it will be for others as well, look for some serious labels or start your own.

Re: Insane CPU (since upgrade 9.6)
looks like i'll stay on Win7. I'd recommend upgrading to 8.1. Things are quite stable. Install Classic Shell, and it's a slicker Win7. Win7 was EOL for mainstream support in January 2015, and is on "we're just patching things because some big enterprise customers won't switch right now" s...
