Re: I'm a little disappointed in Live 9.....

Is it just me, or does Live 9 just fix some issues that have been complained about for a couple of years now. It seems to be playing catch up, nothing really innovative. Live 8 seemed to have alot more innovative thinking about it. Live 9 just seems like a band aid. Mind you Im still using 7 so I gu...

Re: Using Live in a rock band

Have a look at this video http://vimeo.com/6281034 you wont find the Tom Cosm stuff of much relevance but the Pitch Black info could be useful. Just remember its on Ableton 7 not 8 so some things might be kinda different.

Isn't the "Kachang" just the slide on the guitar?

Queensland floods

Hi I'm just bumping this post from "distaudio" in the lounge so more people can look at it. My mate's studio is under. Fortunately we moved all the electrical goods but most of the room treatment etc is ruined and he got off lightly. "Here in the state of Queensland in Australia we ha...

Re: Best vocal recording approach? 1 mic or two?

You can always place the 2nd mic away at a distance to try and capture a natural reverb (gotta watch phasing of course) Bowie did this quite alot.

Re: The truth about abletons audio engine part II

Whats with the agro? I think its a valid point. At least they noticed the change. Do I think ableton sounds diferent yes don't they all? Do i want ableton to keep improving their product? yes. I thought the forum was for discussing music and audio production not how much we love ableton. I say rave ...

Re: Do you like/idolize/enjoy The Beatles?

I absolutely love the beatles, but to use them or Jimi Hendrix as arguments for not concentrating on sound quality and it only about the music is a bit wrong. They both pushed the boundaries of sound and cared very much about its quality. I'd agree with Bob dylan being used for this argument but for...

Re: GM midi mapped drums

Look under the midi utility folder in Live and there is a tool called GM drum map. Put that before your session drums and it makes it all pretty close to GM.

Is ableton falling behind?

I know we are ableton lovers here. But I was wondering if ableton's efforts to make ableton somewhat more reliable and other software platforms incorporating ableton's benefits into their own. Is ableton become alot less prefered and cutting edge (for want of a better description).
