Re: What Ableton IS KEEPING SECRET about Live's audio engine...
not really sure why i keep coming back to this board, cant seem to get away. i think i may have an explanation for the varied opinions/results as i keep doing my own research and practice it all comes back to the understanding of dynamic range and how the settings you choose are related to the mixer...

Re: BIG Problem WE ALL HAVE With Live
if you want scientific proof, get a plugin that measures sample accurate latency in plugin chain and compare it to other programs doing the same things. I agree with you that live is not sample accurate (that said I did some test on other pro DAWs and found out that they aren't sample accurate too!...

Re: BIG Problem WE ALL HAVE With Live
Live gives you a perfectly workable set of tools and a perfectly fine audio engine, if you know how to set it up to not introduce artifacts and have engineering skills. If you can't get it to sound good, it's on YOU. A lot of people are too lazy to work it out, or just believe the usual internet tr...

Re: BIG Problem WE ALL HAVE With Live
wow, scientific proof at last! Well, I for one, am selling my license right now!!! I can't judge it whether it does sound better or not—it's just to my ears. And to tell you the truth, software's sound is totally subjective. well, that's final then if you want scientific proof, get a plugin that me...

Re: BIG Problem WE ALL HAVE With Live
i have something else to say about Ableton which has nothing to do with sound but... ableton has turned into such a closed off cult, people who think its such a revolutionary tool to make music because of the looping and clip view. NEWS FLASH, people have been doing the same thing in reaktor and oth...

Re: BIG Problem WE ALL HAVE With Live
people do HEAR differences between applications, has nothing to do with all this summing nonsense if you want to talk about "sound" issues in Ableton Live, the PDC (delay compensation) is completely unstable. This is exactly what causes people to hear the differences. Although the PDC in a...

signal path problems, help to work around
Im hoping to find some help here for an issue im having with ableton. I have been using live almost since version 1 for live performance mainly. Up until recently I have been using Cubase as my main platform for production but I really want to make the jump to live 100% for both studio work and live...

Am I Crazy, LIve has Huge Headroom??
Been a live user for many many years, love the program... I make techno/house, few releases out no biggie :) anyways, so like most producers i try and get maximum punch out of my kicks/bass and i am happy with the tools ableton offers me to do so... i have watched many videos of robert henke and oth...

Large Volume spikes when dropping audio files into track
This has been happening more frequently lately that i am getting some weird spikes randomly when dropping audio files. been using 8.1 for awhile with no issues and this has just been happening more recently sometimes i dont have a limiter on my master and it registers +26 db. another estblish artist talks publicly about ableton's sound
i know you guys hate these threads, but thought i'd start up some heat by linking to this very recent interview with Clink Recordings artist Insideout. Another fantastic techno producer who in the year 2010 after using ableton he switched to logic because of the sound engine... this guy has incredib...

Re: Samplitude user disses Live as 'shit for mixing in' at GS
i have to say that i read back at my posts here and i feel i must apologize to henke, his new album is SICK and I came off like I was criticizing his work which was not my intention at all. i do like the sound of the older track better (even with the "bad" mastering) but that's strictly my...
