Re: Finding samples on the net?
Also might want to check out the main sample vendors (bigfishaudio, zero-g, gotchanoddin ect ) they all have small free demo files of there sample packs you could make a decent small lib with just these as well.

Re: Ending a song
Oh yeah huge brain fart there I was thinking this was for a "live" setup but if your at home or the studio take the time to write a ending even if all you do is simply start taking out elements of the song then fade it out.

Re: Ending a song
I usually do a mix of the 2 examples given here I have a verb/delay which is gated and make a last clip which i just add just draw in a quick fade at the end near a transient so it fades very smooth.

Re: A generic "what will improve my sound" thread. Pop music
Few things to add treat your room first I can hear the lack of any accoustic treatment in the track and second check out focusrites VRM techonolgy it comes on a few of there a/d's and even a small cube it will take the "room" outof the equasion when mixing and help you get to a better end ...

Re: Seperate mix to headphones?
well attack the problem at the source first and either check your mic pre volume or mixer volume going into live. I dont know what your setup is but this should not be a big deal. Also yes you can make a cue mix to send to your headphones but you need to let me know what your using for a soundcard f...

ensoniq eps 16+ and battery 3 fs/ft
I have a eps 16+ with memory expansion and battery 3 full retail not edu version. I am looking for 70 for battery and 225 for the keyboard or willing to trade for older emu/kurzweil synth keyboards, really looking for a ensoniq halo.

Re: ensoniq, kurzweil and akai to sampler?
Im attached to being away from the laptop at times. Theres nothing like just having a turntable and sampler and beating some pads. I have always owned a sampler and am a hardware guy but love my ableton. I am not so much attached to the mv as just the way of working. I appreciate all the advice and ...

Re: ensoniq, kurzweil and akai to sampler?
Thanks for that i just got off the phone with chicken systems and he was telling me the same issuses with emu translations. ( i understand as i owned a emax and a command station ) so i see where trying to play the patches in anything else would not be a fair translation. I am going to look into kon...

Re: Studio monitor advice
Def get better monitors if your going to go with a decent frontend. ( The allen and heath ) Can i ask why you are going with this mixer? Do you need this amount of i/o? I say spend as much as you can on monitors and maybe get 2 pairs ( yamaha ns10's are always classic and sound great ) What turned y...

I have a bunch of older sample cds from various places and for various samplers ( emu, akai, ensomiq, kurzweil ect ) as i have owned tons of samplers in the past but now just use a mv8800 and live but was wondering how i would go about getting these instruments to read in sampler or on windows perio...
