Re: Live and multitrack recording - pops and clicks

Ok, it's a while since I posted this, but I've got a project coming up and I'm still wondering if anyone could explain this behaviour..?

Anyone?

Live and multitrack recording - pops and clicks

Hi everyone, Anyone else tried multitrack recording in Live? I have had some issues trying to record a 16-track drum set in the studio with Live. Specs: Ableton Live Suite (V8 and V9 tested) Apple iMac (mid 2011, Intel i7 2.8, 8 GB RAM) Mac OS 10.7, latest release Soundcard: Focusrite Liquid Saffire...

Re: Ableton Live - Recording a full band?

About a year ago, I recorded and mixed an entire band in Live. I wrote down my experiences and thoughts about the project in this thread:

viewtopic.php?f=1&t=162766

Maybe this contributes to the thoughts heard so far in this thread.

Coincidence? I don't think so.
Yeah! Ever tried to run the code backwards? Amazing!

I mixed an album in live and got paid for it. But I guess that doesn't make me a pro now.

I'm just really hoping they're waiting for another couple of months. I don't have the money yet.. :D

For the rest, I don't really care, I'm happy with it the way it is at the moment.

Re: Logic midi mapping >>>>>>>>>>>>>> ableton midi mapping

How did you do that?!

Every time I map something in Logic, the settings get lost upon closing Logic; or they get messed up, some don't work anymore or what ever. I find MIDI mapping in Live much more reliable. Once you wrap your head around the fact that Live stores its mappings per Live set only..

Re: Error - A Serious Problem Has Occurred - Live will shut down

If you open a new project, you can also expand the problematic .als file in live's browser and look at the tracks it contains. Drag in the ones you want and create a new project file.

This could also be a solution to your problem.

Re: Let's discuss Recording Techniques for Bass Guitar.

i always try to get as many sources as possible, so when recording bass i DI and mic the amp(and if there is a DI out on the amp that is post preamp, i'd tap that too) ^ That. There's just nothing more beautiful than a proper amp miked withe some decent miks. And then I also get some DIs, preferabl...

Re: Let's discuss Recording Techniques for Bass Guitar.

I'm not a professional. But I usually record bass with a proper amp and decent miks without any compression and EQs. Then I apply EQ and compression and whatnot in the DAW. I also use a lot of multiband compression. Hope that gives you some ideas..

Re: Live for traditional recording/mixing - An experiment

I have now, after tracking the drums for our album in Live, decided to switch back to Logic. I have never had a DAW that was so prone to tracking errors. Clicks and pops all over the recordings were the result. In addition, as I have to use aggregate devices in Mac OS X, one of the soundcards kept d...
