Was there ever an answer to this? I've got a remote sl37 and am looking to get a footswitch to control looper. The boss fs-5u looked a good sturdy option but then I saw this post! If it won't work through the sl, is there a way to connect it straight into ableton directly to start/stop looper?

Yeh, that's what I thought too. I don't need any live 8 stuff to be backwards-compatible for this project (mainly imported samples from outside live anyway). I'll get away with just working in live 7 for this band thingy and maybe put it into 8 if I definitely know the band won't need it back in liv...

Yes, from all the sets I've tried the ones that have the problems are ones containing Native Instruments Plug-ins.
