Re: dropouts on create/delete tracks

i've always used a pimped out macbook pro. blaming CPU or drivers is a pretty lazy response.

after more experimentation it turns out that my project was too complex. but that's an annoying limitation too.

dropouts on create/delete tracks

can anyone explain why there has always been guaranteed audio dropouts whenever any track is created/deleted? for a program that is named after and designed for live performance i feel like they've made a number of things actually impossible to do live.

Re: Live 9.1 GUI Freezes and Hangs

i've been getting this really bad too! i recently formatted my system and upgraded to OSX 10.8.5 so some functionality differences were to be expected but after a quick test this morning it's definitely a problem. for me it gets worse as the set grows. towards the end of a track i'm waiting 5 second...

Re: firebox for live use?

i've used mine live a lot with no problems. however i'm running into SERIOUS problems producing with it. it's a combination of a slightly older macbook updated to mavericks and i'm starting to write some very complex songs. lately even when my project is at the medium stage of size and complexity i'...

Re: operator's FINE pitch knob doesn't work correctly

thanks for figgin this out! definitely spreads some light into the situation. at any rate it's not a useful control designed like this. since i sometimes rack it with other synths and control both pitches at the same time. to solve i'm resorting to max4live patches that abstract the pitch bend to an...

operator's FINE pitch knob doesn't work correctly

i do a lot of pitch bending along with racking and controlling synths together. i'm surprised to learn this now but operator's fine pitch knob does not adjust pitch in a linear way like all other synths i tested do. as such when doing a pitch bend with a complex sound using operator and another synt...

Re: Max for Live formant filter crashes Live

The Finn, i'm getting lots of similar crashes on 9.0.5 with various M4L stock plugins. seems to be a serious flaw with max for live right now which is a pain since i paid for it.

but whenever i think that paid software shouldn't be so bad i remember windows.

Re: Akai MPD-32 remote script (with red box)

hi kinnik. i have experienced this extra delay. i just posted about it in the thread you're referencing. to summarize, the control surface uses a scripting language to control ableton which appears to have communication delay compared to direct mappings. nothing we can really do about it and ableton...

Re: Launchpad latency on session mode (Update: youtube link)

hi guys. i've done some experimentation with custom control surface scripts and i've noticed the same thing. previously i used my MPD midi controller with direct mappings and it responded very quickly. i wanted to expand my ability to control ableton so i wrote a custom midi remote script and used t...

Re: Live no longer stable . 'out of memory' issue outstanding

thanks for posting your reply from tech support. as i suspected, it's now clear (and utterly frustrating and extremely disappointing) that ableton has chosen not to prioritize stability. multi-sample libraries are only becoming larger and more common. this means more annoying crashes for all ableton...

Re: Serious program error: out of memory

ableton definitely fails hard when using kontakt libraries. it's disappointing at best especially after buying an expensive mac pimped out to the max.

Re: Out of memory crashes whenapproaching 2GB of RAM usage

i've sent lots of crash reports and exasperated messages about ableton crashes in. i've never received a response from ableton about anything.

it's definitely left me feeling disappointed with their support department.

Re: Akai MPD-32 remote script (with red box)

hi seppe. i've spent lots of time working with what you've done here, modifying for my own purposes. however i'm running into strange issues where the remote script randomly "disconnects" from live. what i mean is, it simply stops responding. re-initializing the script by choosing it from ...

Re: delay with Pitch shift

grain delay does NOT do the job nicely. it garbles the sound as the frequency setting cannot be turned off.
