Nice set, man. I am going to check out some of the artists you mixed. I like the stuff you did you did with erosion and granular effects. Did you use the crossfader much? Can you describe your general setup and methodology.

Here's an album I tracked in Live:

Oh, my, this is rocking my world.

I can't wait to start cutting bass loops onstage using this technique. And rendering from Reason is going to be much faster.

You rock, guest!

Reason Into Live

Hello,

I've been using Live for about a year now, but still something is evading me. What is the correct method to cut perfect loops from Reason into Live? Say I have an 8 bar kick/snare pattern that I have running into Live channel 1 + some insert effects. I set channel 2 to Master Out and solo ...

Sorry. mate. I was just throwing back any guff right there at the beginning. There's been so much inflammatory stuff on this board lately, it's crazy. Anyway, peace to you and yours.

At least you didn't paste "So, what are you wearing?" Right? Right.

Well, blimey! Thanks, that's exactly what I wanted to know.

I wonder if there's a such thing as a battery-powered preamp that
1) provides phantom power
2) doesn't suck.

I've been enjoying laptop + quattro + uc-33 as my live rig. It's portable, easy to set up, and I can work on music almost anywhere. I'm really tempted to add a Machinedrum to the rig, but then I'd have to bring cables and a mixer, and I'm not sure I want to that.

WTF kind of reply is that? Maybe you didn't post all of your URL. Sure, I could search the archives, but I'm more interested in having a new discussion.

This board used to be so peaceful. Sigh.

Fader quality is about the same. On the positive tip, since it's such a cheap controller, you don't have to be paranoid that something might happen to it. Back when I used to gig with a Nord Modular, I would totally freak if anyone got within arm's reach of it, especially if they were carrying a ...

It's a cheap controller. You're not going to find anything like the quality of the Nord Modular's knobs. That being said, it's entirely functional, and in the heat of perfromance, I can't say that the knob quality has every bothered me.

One thing that I plan to do with mine is put a little daub of ...

Field Recording Gear

Hello. I'd like to do some field recording, e.g. walking around with my Rode NT-1a mic and capturing street noises, crowd scenes, nature sounds, etc etc, and I'm looking for some gear recommendations. Also, I'd like the same gear to double as something I could use to record my Live shows (laptop ...

I'm using one, too, and I like it. Having 8 tracks is plenty for me, since my sets are improvised. I find that if I have more than 4 tracks running at any given time, the sounds gets a bit muddy. It an inexpensive controller, and works great with Live. I have each channel strip set up to control ...

Thanks for the support, everyone. If you'd like to start getting samples ready for upload, we can get the ball rolling quicker. Try to keep the size under 750k, and please use original work. The remix will be a blast!

New Live Site: liveproduction.net

Hello, Live people!

Please stop by liveproduction.net, a new site dedicated to sharing knowledge about Ableton's fine software. Although the site is light on content at present, by the end of the week we will have our em411.com-style remix started.
