Drum Rack Kit .alp Missing Files

Hi, When I try to load up some pre-made drum kit (.alp) files, it fails to load the samples into the drum rack. All the samples are there in the folder. Do I need to manually drag the files to the rack? This hasn't happened with other racks I've purchased or with the stock ones. Any advice would be ...

Ableton Third Party Drum Racks

Hi - I recently bought a few drumkit packs made by Raw Cutz. Really good stuff. I was wondering if anyone knew of any other third party companies putting drumrack packs out. I'm mainly interested in oldschool hip hop, breaks, and downtempo type sounds. Thanks!

Re: Where can I find an online tutor for EDM production?

OP - You might want to take EasyWorkflow up on his offer. If not, go for the Deadmau5 course. I used to have no problem cranking out tracks, but over the past few years, seem to have lost the motivation to finish anything, so I guess I'm sort of in the same position as you. Everything I've heard abo...

Third Party Drumrack Kits?

Hi, awhile back I purchased a couple drumrack kits from Loopmasters. Really top notch stuff. I was wondering if anyone knows of any other companies that are producing this type of material. I'm mainly interested tech or trance. Thanks!

Step Write Sample Slices? Push 2

I've sampled and sliced a sample which i've then converted to a drum rack. I can't seem to be able to get it into step sequence mode. Am I missing something? Seems to be putting it on 64 pads even though I've only got 4 slices. Thanks in advance!

Re: Why does Ableton keep adding new features that no one wants?

New iPhone season is upon us and there are actually people pissed off that Apple isn’t inspiring them enough to spend money on something they don’t actually need. That's the thing. People have come to expect that something huge needs to happen every year. With Live, it can already do so much, what ...

Re: Why does Ableton keep adding new features that no one wants?

If Live has a problem I'd say it's more likely an Identity Crisis: Is it a live performance instrument, or is it a DAW, is it an MPC replacement with required hardware dongle, or is it a DJ tool, is it for composing to Video, is it a simple WYSIWYG app, or is it a complex IDE? Is it all of them equ...

Re: Count-in in Ableton Push

Great to hear it's been fixed. So, how does it work? If you want to add more to an existing clip, do you just press record again and you'll get the count in? Sorry, I'm at work and not able to try it at the moment.

Adjusting Warp Markers

Hey guys,

When using my Push 2, I notice sometimes when warping audio, that the markers are not always spot on. Is there a way to adjust them when needed? I've tried adjusting the start and end points of the sample, but it didn't change anything. Thanks!

Re: Why does Ableton keep adding new features that no one wants?

Ever thought about how hard it must be to have to constantly innovate? I suppose there's more room in the DAW business than say, in the golf ball or toothbrush industry, but still. Ableton has a rock solid, popular and proven product. Somehow, thank God, they've managed to keep the core of the progr...

Re: Why does Ableton keep adding new features that no one wants?

These days I can't imagine it's easy to stay relevant in any type of business. You've got to give credit to Ableton for remaining at the top for a good number of years now in a very competitive industry. I think they're doing a great job.

Metronome Count in?

When recording a clip with a drum rack, I've got the metronome set to give a count in. IF I try to add another element though, I press record and it just starts recording right away - no count in. This makes it impossible to know when to come in if you're trying to play in real time. You have to wai...

Re: Regretting Push 2 Purchase - Please Help

4T, you definitely make some valid points. The one thing I'll add in support of Push 2 though, is that it's really easy to import a drumloop (or any loop) and slice it to a drumrack with the click of a button. That feature was one of the selling points that made me sell my Push 1.

Re: Regretting Push 2 Purchase - Please Help

Push is amazing for hip hop. There are some great kits right out of the box. I mean, you've got 808s, breaks etc. Not sure what you're looking for, but you could always process you're sounds a bit to make them more lo fi if that's the sound you're after. Or, you could pick up one of the Ableton pack...

Why do we make music?

I never used to think about this - and I used to make a lot more music. Somewhere along the way I started to think the point was to make money. At that point I tried to sound like everyone else and came up short. Tough to do it all at a high level (produce, mix, master). Stopped making music for the...
