Re: Push 2 screen goes blank when browsing Audio Unit plugins...
Not a big deal at all for me personally. Any type of browsing is by far the slowest thing with P2, and I never use it. It's just so much quicker to use a mouse and scroll wheel.

Re: Push 2 screen goes blank when browsing Audio Unit plugins...
Mine still crashes the display with 9.6.1 when browsing AU's. Sigh.
Still can't load a 3rd party device from Push 2.

So I made a Virtual Reality Step Sequencer System for Live..
I also bought a cheap domain that just shows a video of how it works. Use headphones for full VR effect!
I blab for about 3 minutes on technical details before I get to the goods:

Re: Push 2 screen goes blank when browsing Audio Unit plugins...
Anybody who's having the screen crash in 9.6 having any luck with the beta versions fixing it? Curious because I'm thinking about joining the beta group, since my display still crashes every single time it hits that plugins folder. I guess reinstalling Windows might fix it.... ugh. When I think abo...

Re: Push 2 screen goes blank when browsing Audio Unit plugins...
Just tried that fix in 9.6b4. Still crashes mine when browsing AU's... except now it goes blank as per usual BUT it restarts the Push with the splash screen. I used to have to do that myself!

Re: Arrangement view automation
Hey timothallan -- I think I just figured it out. If you have the Push in Note mode and try to record / overdub automation to the Arrangement, you will get that behavior because Ableton is forcing record mode for the currently-focused track. If you switch to Session view on the Push, and Arrange vi...

I just did a bunch of automation recording with push the second the other day direct into arrangement view with no issues at all no mapping nothing being over written or anything!

Re: Arrangement view automation
Yep, got it. The bottom one is when I mapped one of the knobs in user mode directly to the control, far from ideal.
I'm on 9.5.1b3, so that's not it.
Dunno man, I'm doing shift/record as well. Overdub on/off, doesn't matter, my clip still gets split.

Re: Arrangement view automation
Yeah man, doing that and still getting breaks in my clips when it starts recording.
Here's me flicking in and out of user mode/back to arrangement.
Here's P2 in user mode, mapped like a "normal" midi controller.

Re: Arrangement view automation
Have you tried the mapping method though? You only have to map it once, and save it as part of your template set. Mapping it takes a few seconds. From hereon, pressing your custom Back-to-arrangement button literally takes one second. Of course an official button would be better for completion's sa...

Re: Arrangement view automation
Yeah it seems so. I can record automation independently to Session and Arrangement, without one affecting the other, but in order not to overwrite the existing arrangement clips, you must have the Back to Arrangement button activated , whether overdub is active or not. If nothing is playing in Sess...

Re: Arrangement view automation
Sure, but it also overwrites your clip in arrangement view. So yes, you've answered the OP's question, but mine still isn't solved. I'm still wondering why my original thread was merged with this one :? I'm just going to assume that you can't record automation in arrangement view via Push 2 without ...

Re: No velocity in step sequencer?
Very true, in fact I mention that exact thing in my original post. That doesn't help with playing in velocities.

Nope, because that starts up session view automation and turns off my arrangement for that channel.

Re: No velocity in step sequencer?
Okay cool thanks, that's really too bad as it's so much nicer to get velocity based grooves on things like shakers by tapping them in, rather than going back and manually editing the velocity for each note by holding down a pad like you currently have to.
