Re: BIG Problem WE ALL HAVE With Live

This comparison is so fucked up.

That together with the Thread title, OMG.

It really takes time and experience to make valid comparisons. Whether the thread starter is pretty unexperienced or he tries to bash Live intentional, don´t know ...

Re: Robert Henke Granulator

Pity it´s gone, just wanted to look deeper into it. But I think it´s great from the first look two days ago. Two things came to my mind: It´s sounds great, somehow there is a very organic feel of the textures created. Especially what Granulator can do with the transients of the bell sound sample. Ve...

Re: what's your current lowest latency?

AD/DA conversion adds additional latency aswell, independent of buffer size. Live can not know about your ADDA delay.

Re: keeping projects light and clean

I´m a mess with cleaning up projects before they are released and never delete anything, smile.

Especially with vocal takes I experienced a couple of times that I reedited some parts later with previously not chosen parts.

And 500 MB doesn´t cost a lot with todays terrabyte drives.

Re: Lives sound engine argument again ...

Live sounds best!

(as great as the the SSL Mixer application I use)

For the rest of the math I do not care anymore- but the workflow and inspiration coming from Live creates a better sounding mix. Bette than every "256 bit algorithm" could ever provide.

Re: Genelec 6010A - anyone using?

I´ve been using 1 pair of Genelec 1031 for 14 yeras now - they never gave me any problem and are performing totally reliable since day one. And I sometimes listen at very high levels with lots of bass :-)

I do not know the newer models personally, but hear and read a lot of positive feedback.

Re: Switching from logic to ableton

Made that step up to Ableton recently -> most amazing: The results with Live 8 sound way better. Not because of the math behind (I do not care for 32/64 bit engine, it´s all great), but simply because of workflow. I´m much faster with Ableton Live from step 1 - the idea - "ah, ok, this track ne...

First Remix Release with Ableton Live 8.0! Yeah!

Have recently switched to Ableton Live for remixes/club/dance productions... so here´s the first release, that was arranged and mixed with Live 8.0. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eydio8kg5r8&feature=channel_page The waterdrops in the remix were recorded during night in my bathroom here - they c...

Re: Track due tonight; need advice!

Depends a bit if you want those louder noises to have an irritating effect or if they should sound smooth. If smooth, it might help to cut HF with a peak filter and take a wide high shelf to giv a bit highs back. Here´s a sreenshot of how I would EQ it: http://www.pathosv2.com/eq.png and I would als...

Re: Is it reasonable to use Live as a plugin host for mastering?

Yes, you can master with Ableton Live, it is however not an optimal solution. Plug-Ins-> there will be no difference playing back an unchanged .wav (no warp, no SRC) thru the same chain of mastering plugs compared to other applications. SRC Argument-> true, beside the graphics seeming more dramatic ...

How to programm alternating sample layers with Sampler?

Hello, I imported some older EXS samples. Originally they have 2 alternating multisample-layers via Note-Selection. After the import, the A + B layer play both simultaneously in one Sampler instrument, not alternating. 1) Ho do I programm this with Sampler or a Rack? 2) Can I let them automatically ...
