Re: Control selected track \w keyboard shortcuts

10 years on and this is still one of the most useful scripts for Ableton. Lately I've been using STC in conjunction with Bomes to navigate Live using keys WASD (like playing a first person shooter). This way, you can always be hardwired into track and clip navigation ie. the cursor keys do not chang...

Re: Ableton Live 10

Dunno if this has been mentioned already (i'm not reading 9 pages)

Audio-and-MIDI Take management. (ie nested tracks for each pass)

and...

Take Editing like logic's quickswipe.

Those two features would make me very happy indeed.

Logic style audio engine.

Logic is efficient because it has independent playback and recording engines. Whilst it plays back everything at 1024** samples, once you arm a track or monitor, it switches that track to whatever you've set your i/o buffer to. I understand why Abe doesn't do this due to its real-time "live&quo...

Re: OSX + Live Audio Performance

Are you certain that deleting clips will free resources when playing back the arrangement? Certain NO. Pretty sure YES. Depending on the session, deleting scenes and switching to arrange will free up resources for me. (I know of at least one other guy who I talked to who experiences this too) Whils...

Re: OSX + Live Audio Performance

The conversation is interesting between you guys, but you need to be careful when comparing performance in Abe with other DAW's. For instance, Logic has an (unconfirmed) playback buffer of 512 samples regardless of what your i/o buffer is set to. This makes perfect sense as the only time you really...

Re: OSX + Live Audio Performance

Hi, I have the following setup (Custom Mac): RME Multiface II OS 10.10 Intel I7-4770k 32 GIG RAM I have a Project which induce 30% CPU. Anything works fine at 512 samples which results in 13.2ms latency which is way to high to play Push with joy. When I lower the latency to 256 Sampler , I keep get...

Re: FIX latency in line with other DAWs?

I think I understand why Ableton implemented this: The theory is that if you're monitoring through software (In or Auto), then you will end up playing ahead of the beat by the amount of the latency in your system, for example, 20 ms. Live then places the audio 20 ms behind where you actually played...

Re: FIX latency in line with other DAWs?

i was getting a read of 14.7. along the way we chalked it up to the latency not being reported correctly... it's either that or you're wrong and i can play that way. regardless of what the numbers said, i could not hear it and i believe my ears... especially since there's no logical way i could not...

Re: FIX latency in line with other DAWs?

I want to revive this thread, because I agree with the original poster: Live should behave like other DAWs: Audio recorded on a track with Monitoring set to In or Auto should be time aligned. As it stands, it is only time-aligned (presuming you have your buffer offsets in the Preferences set correc...

'Quickswipe' take editing and some other stuff.....

As the title suggests, a 'quickswipe' feature a la Logic would be really useful for comping takes.

Also, a phase/time coherent warp algorithm would be really cool for grouping together and editing multi-miked sources.
