Absolutely but people seem not to have too many problems with that one. The EIE pro seems to be more random

Re: Anyone used the Akai EIE Pro sound card yet?

Hi ! Sorry to "wake up" such an old thread but I'm considering buying that one too and I was wondering how well does it performs now we are mid-2013. Any feedback from actual users ? I'm under win 7 x64 both on a laptop and a desktop. I'm wondering how well it performs in ASIO cases (when using it i...

Re: Does anyone know what is Live's MIDI resolution?

But where did you see the grid resolution is 1/16384 ? Maybe I'm wrong and the PPQN value is 4096 but in my plugin I clearly had 960 reported. If you make a midi clip in session view, make sure it's on fixed grid and keep pressing command+2 (i think.. whatever gets you smaller resolutions.. can't c...

Re: Does anyone know what is Live's MIDI resolution?

No problem. This number is called PPQN which stands for "pulses per quarter note". The "pulse, or tick, is the smalest time unit (in MIDI). With 960 PPQN, it means you can divide equally the space between two quarter notes in 960 intervals. That's 3840 ticks in a bar, which is a lot already. Imagine...

Re: Does anyone know what is Live's MIDI resolution?

Wait wait wait, if 1/16384 is the smallest grid, and everyone knows you can turn the grid off and get even smaller, then the PPQ is surely even greater than 4096? 16384/4 = 4096. Highest GRID PPQ. Higher PPQ without grid no? Not necessarily. The display is one thing, the audio engine is another thi...

Re: Does anyone know what is Live's MIDI resolution?

Actually I developped a small test pluggin using Juce (http://www.rawmaterialsoftware.com/) and it seems to be 960 pulses per quarter note. At least, that's what live reports ...

Re: Novation impulse and Live 8 -> not a rant , help needed

Cheers Eddie ! I'm taalking about this interface : http://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_detailpage&v=GNfvQCpJ4C8#t=56s However, I might be mistaken and maybe it's only a Nocturn thing and not related to the other controllers, like Impulse, SL MK II series, etc ... Also, I'm wondering if the S...

Re: Novation impulse and Live 8 -> not a rant , help needed

It does help, although it's a pitty that the faders can't work like the encoders but I'll have to live with it I guess. About the second point, is there no way to have this as well ?

Novation impulse and Live 8 -> not a rant , help needed

I'm new to the impulse and there are two, quite major things I can't achieve (Using Live 8.2.8 ) - I want to map the faders to plugins, the same way encoders work . In the automap softare, I can edit the mappings for the encoders, but if I click on the faders, on the picture, I have the following me...

I've seen a lot of "love" comments, but hey, you can love whoever you want. The thing which really surprised me is that many people (not just a few ...) where "amazed" by his piano performance. Common ...
