From what I've managed to find out most of the variability comes from the device driver software and the way it interacts with the firewire port. rikhyray posted this link in another latency thread that I started. http://www.centrance.com/about/pr/pr060130.shtml There is free utility from these peop...

I read somewhere that just about every sound card 'lies' about the actual delay, maybe it was in the ASIO4ALL documentation. props for taking time to measure it. Yeah I read that too, http://www.centrance.com/about/pr/pr060130.shtml There is free utility from these people, no idea about their produ...

Just got a Presonus Firepod, seems pretty solid. very good build and sound quality for the price. I've had all 8 ins and outs going at the same time and it was solid as a rock. I'll be putting it to the test this weekend recording some live sessions for a friend's band. Minimum buffer is 88 samples ...

Use a MIDI Rack with a different chord preset in each chain. then use the chain selector to choose between chords. You can map this to a macro and automate it.

it's easy once you know how. Gen up on midi effect racks and chain select in manual

Re: //\\//\\Ten Reasons NOT to pay for ableton//\\//\\

agree with those, v6 is riddled with little bugs and they go to v7 without a 6.5 with improved features. Just because they are beta testing 7 doesn't mean they won't release a 6.x. If I remember rightly 5.2 was released after 6. You remembered wrong, 5.2 was released when apple broght out the intel...

Latency- Firepod says 4mS, Live says 9.12, actually 10.6 ???

I'm testing my new Firepod. Installed it on Vista with latest Vista drivers from PreSonus web site. Firepod toolbar widget set to High CPU. Sample rate = 44.1Khz Using Firepod ASIO Driver Operation is flawless with all 8 inputs and outputs working while recording all 8 inputs to internal disk. But: ...

1. it's over priced 2. you are beneath their contempt 3. they spend their time coding the next paid-for-product, not working on the problems the current version has. sometimes they do work on those problems, in the next version. which you pay for. like a good, dosile little bitch 9. it never ends, ...
