I just disabled the on demand scanning in my anti virus program (NORMAN) and now Live loads in about 10 seconds as opposed to the 4 to 5 minutes it was taking before. Also launching an instance of SampleTank 2 now takes about 2 seconds instead of about half a minute. Loading patches in sample tank 2...

I am sure it can output midi but I've not figured it out properly yet. You can put your midi effect and your vst instrument plus any vst effects into Energy XT and send a final mix output to your Live track. It also includes all sorts of built in midi fx for creating keyboard splits and layers, etc....

interesting .... so how do you target the individual params from the other midi track (might be obvious, but Im trying to visualize this right here) Here is an example of what I would do for sample tank 2. Drop a sample tank on track 3 select a suitable sound and get a little MIDI loop going on par...

Check out Energy XT http://www.xt-hq.com/ . It is a plugin and also a host. So you can plug Energy XT into Live as a virtual instrument and then use it to host all kinds of fiendishly complicated plugin routings. just the thing for applying different effects to different outputs on multi output VST ...

Click on the little right pointing arrow on the plugin (not the actual plug in window but the one in the lane at the bottom of the screen). A display will open up to the right of the plugin with sliders for all the parameters that the plugin supports. These can be automated using Live's midi automat...
