Re: Arturia MiniMoog now requires a dongle

I will never understand why anyone would use software requiring a dongle. Dongles have got to be the worst idea, ever. Any software company that thinks their product is so important that I would be willing to sacrifice one of my two USB ports (newer Macbook) to use it, is on crack. There are soooooo...

Re: Anyone having problems with sylenth in L8???

YES!!! when I try to use sylenth while receiving incoming midi-clock, sylenth goes to hell and starts crackling very badly, as if my CPU/soundcard can't handle it. The CPU is only going to about 10% and I am using a NI Audio Kontrol 1. Sylenth is the only synth this is happening with. so frustrating.

Dynamics on master output channel for live performance

What are you cats using on your master channel when doing live PA type gigs? I don't mean dj'n program material which for the most part is already pumped up enough. I'm talking synth plugs and clip based sets. I've been using PSP Vintage Warmer 2 which is really good as a brickwall limiter and gener...

Re: Newbie Trying to Dj with Live

I believe your Tascam audio interface only has one stereo out. You would need another pair of outs in order to have a headphone cue.

i've got a new macbook and it runs live very very nicely. I can load up a ton of VST synths and effects and I've not been able to make it choke yet. get yourself a nice USB 2.0 audio interface and you're good to go.
cheers!

There's also a significant increase in the front side bus speed from 667mHz to 1066mHz and it uses DDR3 memory as standard which means you can do more operations quicker. Having a separate graphics processor means that you're CPU can be freed up to focus on processing your apps & not drawing th...

haa! I just hit the web with the EXACT same problem. Have an Audiofire2, want a new macbook, no firewire. It's pretty lame that they have dropped the firewire port from the macbook line. I bet we'll see a whole new crop of USB 2.0 interfaces now.

mac refurbs rock. I actually prefer them to new because often the issues are already worked out because it has undergone inspection that the new units aren't subject to. I've had 4 refurbished macs over the years. I've only had a problem with one of them but I sent it back and was sent another withi...
