Re: Insane CPU (since upgrade 9.6)
i'm using the drum rack to play percussive loops that need to be timestretched properly to be in time with everything. so warp needs to be activated. changing the warp mode doesn't seem to impact the problem OK, but unless you plan to change the tempo what I just suggested will still be in time and...

Re: Insane CPU (since upgrade 9.6)
I delete my drum rack with about 40 instances of simpler (mind you each one has a large warped sample inside) Why exactly do the drum sounds need to be warped? What warp type? Are you actually working the warp settings real time? If not, you could simple freeze the warped drum if only that have the...

Re: Insane CPU (since upgrade 9.6)
I'm having strange issues with large drum racks which contain a lot of instances of Simpler. Even if no note in the drum rack is being triggered. I believe there must be some bug with Simpler's new warping capabilities. This is really noticable when I turn link on. I have a huge live set with comple...

Re: Someone Please Build This ! I will pay $
I made two separate devices. One that let's you map an arbitrary number of dials to one dial and another one that does the multimap 1-to-1 with bidirectional communication. The thing is my multimap device is for my specific use case where I'm not mapping to specifically defined parameters but to all...

Re: M4L Stability
i'm really frustraded with max4live's stability and general bugs for a long time. i've had these problems on live 8, 32 bit, live 9, 32 and 64 bits always updating to the latest versions. - when moving devices around or duplicating tracks with max4live devices i get random crashes or lose mappings -...

Re: DJing with Ableton Live
yeah but also totally doable in live. i dj with live and hardly ever have all my tracks pre-warped. my live set when i start out with is completely empty and i drop in whatever i feel like at the moment. including tracks i just downloaded. i have some more organic tracks e.g. tom waits pre-warped an...

Re: DJing with Ableton Live
those issues with the automatic warping of constant-tempo electronic music some people are complaining about are very strange. i've very rarely encountered them in live. since live 8 i've rarely had to go and adjust individual loop markers of a track that doesn't change tempo and has a relatively st...

Re: DJing with Ableton Live
Well, I could get ten tracks from Juno and DJ them immediately, compared with sitting down warping them in Ableton and making sure the .asd tracks are following along if I copy them over from one system to another... I rather DJ than warp, myself. copying the asd file along with the original is a n...

Re: DJing with Ableton Live
I really don't see the problem regarding "track preparation work" people are complaining about here. I've been DJing with live for years. I really love how it opens up the possibility to mix tracks that are not in constant tempo . Regarding 4/4 electronic music live almost always warps the...

Kate Bush - Wuthering Heights time stretched to 35 minutes the result is pretty beautiful.
you only need 6 of these for your set

Re: sound design / mix problem: bass drowns out rest of mix
yes. i've been learning to use the frequency analyser and have been using eq8 to try and remove some frequencies but i can't seem to get a satisfactory result.
the problem really is that it sounds good at home. i guess i could try and do part of the mixing process on a club system.

sound design / mix problem: bass drowns out rest of mix
i've been working on a song / remix recently which has a kind of low/subby hovering bass that comes in. on my monitor speakers and headphones at home it seems fine but when i play it in a club i have the feeling the bass drowns out the rest, especially on crappy soundsystems. the waveform and meters...

explain circle of fiths. and show how by starting at F and moving round you first produce a major pentatonic scale and ultimately all the white notes. Then you introduce the word diatonic and talk about the different modes, with emphasis on the major and minor. read wiki about the word diatonic, ho...
