I went ahead and bought upgrade to 8.0. I have checked this out and yes it is an xml file. Very cool. Now I can generate a file from my own program and then gzip it.

I got the unrar program for windows and it didn't work either when I tried to extract it.

the gzip thing doesn't work. haven't tried the rar thing

I am Windows XP based.

What I am trying to do is use Live's reverb/compression effects on my voice and have that outputted to my online karaoke recorder program. I want Live to basically intercept my voice and hand it off to the other app.

I do a lot of online singing and I'd like to take advantage of live's effects. What I specifically want to do is record into my mic with life, have the effects apply and the rerouted back into the input stream to my online flash based recording application.

Any one tried this before?

I have asked that Ableton provide me with the ALS files (whatever) that was used to generate their demo song so that I can see how it was done. I am still having issues where I cannot get strings to sound right. Ableton has chosen to reject my request. I am not very happy that I spent so much money...

So you are saying the OIC is cheaper stuff? $1000 US isn't cheap, well maybe considering the Vienna collection or the SONIvox stuff. Does anyone know of a good source to learn how to use the OIC properly? I have had this product for some time now and I still cannot get it sound realistic.

I am not familiar with clip files. All I do is MIDI generated files to import into Ableton Live. MIDI doesn't have all of the necessary expressions needed to create tracks realistically.

Can you point me to a link or something that can explain clip files a little more for me?
