I thought so. Couldn't find any other native way to do this.
I did find this post so going to see if the python method works

Re: Record, Loop and Re-Record - Same Button
What about assigning a midi input to the delete button? I can press "delete" on my computer keyboard, so if a midi button can do the same that could work. I'd need a 2nd midi button but i can live with that. One to start the clip recording. One to delete the clip via the "delete"...

Record, Loop and Re-Record - Same Button
Hi, Ableton 9. I have mapped a midi button to the clip "record button" on a track. I can start the recording of that clip by pressing the midi button, press the button to stop the recording, and then the clip loops as expected. What I'd like is if I press the midi button again, it overwrit...

Ableton + Behringer Xenyx 302USB
Hi, Think I have an issue but let's see if anyone can think of a solution. This Behringer Xenyx 302USB is a USB audio interface. However, the mic has a direct connection to the headphone and Main mix (line out) so you always hear unprocessed mic. Not good! I've tried working with Ableton to route so...

Vocal harmoniser with Keyboard control
Hi
Does anyone know of a vst where you sing a vocal and using your keyboard you play the notes/chords you want to play your own voice to harmonise against your original voice, in real time?
Thanks
Chris

Re: Pedal to start/stop track
Hi, Ok FCB1010 all setup, CC notes for every pedal in every bank, so that's 100 CC notes to control Ableton with! Having great fun so far! I also have a latching pedal plugged into Switch 1 on the back. I simply cannot get this pedal to do anything! I was hoping to use this external pedal to start a...

Re-record audio / midi clips
Hi all, Ooops, I recorded a new clip in track#1 but it had a bad note in. I need to re-record over the top of that clip in the current scene, and by re-recording it overwrites the bad clip. How do I do this, as when I click the same 'record clip' button it now just plays the bad clip. Any ideas, ple...

Re: Pedal to start/stop track
Hi, Yes, I'm getting the hang of the FCB now. I'm using the PC Editor to setup each of the banks and their pedals as "riverdance" to set it up was becoming tiresome! What is weird though, I've gone into Ableton and Midi MAP, clicked on a purple icon and pressed a pedal on my FCB. It regist...

Re: Pedal to start/stop track
Hi, Ok, FCB1010 on it's way. You actually reminded me of this as I was looking at it a year or two ago. I agree, great pedal! Lots to play with. thanks for the reminder! My only question would be can I have external pedals connected into the FCB1010? I have instruments dotted around my studio so it ...

Pedal to start/stop track
Hi, Are there any pedals / midi controllers / USB pedals etc that can start/stop and record a loop on one track/channel? The same pedal must be used to select the next track/channel and start/stop a recording? I'd like to be sat at my drums and push this pedal, play a quick beat, push the pedal and ...
