Re: IAC driver problems

You can use this to pipe streams of midi data out of then back into Live to automate controls. For example a midi clip can be built to send a sequence of 64/65/64/65 etc on ch7/cc50 say, and a dial in the gui set up to respond to this and expect increment/decrement data. Fire the clip, automate the ...

Interesting and a shame to see this. I stopped using MFL in 2010 because of these issues.

Re: LFO for CC's automation

I wrote on and it's at macrostructure.net. It's standalone but you pipe it into Live as if it was a controller. Hope my website is still live...!

Re: NI FM8 preset changes after project save - each time

Have you given the project to someone with their own FM8 license to see if the problem persists?

Re: Fabfilter Saturn

Many of the controls are too small, or too small in throw, too close together, badly labelled and lost in a vast interface. What's to like? :)

Re: Fabfilter Saturn

I tried Ohmicide a while back and the sound was great, but the interface was so horrible to work with in a practical sense that I didn't buy it. I am 50/50 about the looks, but the interface was just way to hard to use, no workflow at all.

Re: Fabfilter Saturn

I think what's most interesting about it is the versatility, ease-of-use interface, mod options, M/S & multiband options. If you're looking for the closest emulations to real hardware, I'd go for Waves or UAD. Just MHO. Well, I wouldn't really know if a distortion emulation was good or not, I h...

Re: Fabfilter Saturn

I have tried out the demo. I am a bit underwhelmed. The mod options are very good and easy to set up, but the basic distortion algorithms are all a bit samey and uninspiring except for the special effects ones, which are perhaps too much the other way. I would imagine having to stack other effects w...

Re: There will be no v9.0

I think they are managing to grow the business from other revenue streams combined and will just update the core software for free from now on with existing customers able to buy significant add-ons if they want. Basically what they have done for the last 2+ years.

There will be no v9.0

As an alternative take on this situation, perhaps the following pertains.... Live is now a mature product. As such, adding significantly 'more' will just lead to bloat. Some would say we are there already and the original concept peaked as early as v3.0. The 'version bandwagon' is actually a negativ...

Re: Do you use a launchpad? Open!

Thank you for your reply Let me ask you, what do you recommend? I see a bunch of tools from 40-200 on amazon. How about launchpad with a nanokontrol, and or whatever else you think? Think of it as a way to spend the 200$ Xmas money haha I recommend a good comfy mouse and a $40 akai mini keyboard. F...

Re: Do you use a launchpad? Open!

Good enough fun but for me the variability of the button action rules it out as a serious tool.
