Re: Bugfix update 8.0.5 available

+1.

Uninstalling live packs for instruments I don't own after every release is annoying and un-necessary. Can we not have a basic install with no add-ons?

Re: Talent vs Imagination

Interesting post... Just to add my 2 cents: I think the greatest music is that which expresses the innermost soul of a person or people. This is essentially what separates something that will stand the test of time vs. something that might be impressive for a while before it is essentially forgotten...

I have had similar problems where Analog seems to randomly drop audio.. Here is a set with one Analog clip. http://www.box.net/shared/06hnbflh4n When I open the set and play scene 1 in session view I get no sound even though it appears that all levels are fine. If I switch presets on Analog then I g...

Hello, I am getting similar crashes. I can always recreate the crash in clip view with a drum loop by double-clicking the second pseudo-transient in a clip to make it turn yellow, then moving the start of the loop marker and start marker to line up with this 2nd transient. After that I right click t...

Live 7 owners will be able to upgrade to Live 8 for 59 USD Wow, I think I need a detailed user manual just for Ableton's pricing system  So, let me get this straight. I have Live 6. If I upgrade from 6->8 it will cost me 249 USD (it says this on my upgrade page) Or if I upgrade to Live 7 now ...

I am definitely surprised that there is basically no discount for going from Live 6 -> Live 8. I was expecting the usual "Upgrade to Live 7 now and get Live 8 free!" offer. Sure enough, the one time I decide to skip an upgrade is the one time they don't have a free upgrade deal :( $249 USD...

Vista: To 64 or not to 64?

Hi all I bought a laptop in the last few months and am eligible for the free express upgrade to Vista. But since it's OEM I have to choose between either 32-bit or 64-bit Vista. I'm running Core 2 Duo so could take advantage of 64-bit but I've heard stories that the support isn't there yet and may n...

Right now clips only contain relative envelopes. Why not have BOTH absolute and relative envelopes right inside the clips? This way you can record absolute midi controller tweaks directly into any clip. The relative envelope would follow the absolute envelope (also maybe have an option to ignore the...

thanks for trying dude, this is a strange one. I'm sending an e-mail to support... I don't get it, maybe I need to put the correct "port name" for the usb device? I didn't have to before. This is what it says: # If your controller is connected via USB, replace ControllerName # with the nam...

yup already did that, the directory is named 'Astar' and the file UserConfiguration.txt is in it. Then I go in preferences and I can pick 'Astar' as a control surface but like I said no blue hand on selected devices and no automap

So I tried throwing it in 'My Documents/Ableton/User Defined Scripts' and still no dice. The profile actually doesn't even show up in preferences when it's in that folder. When it's in 'Program Files/Ableton/Resources/MIDI Remote Scripts' I at least get the option to pick the profile but I get no bl...

Are you sure you are putting it in the correct directory? I had this same problem. It should go in "User Defined Scripts" not "MIDI Remote Scripts" It's inside the Documents/Ableton, not in the Program Files/Ableton directory area Thanks I'll try that when I get home. I have it ...

Help, I'm having trouble with custom automap

Hi, suddenly I have issues since Live 6.0.3 getting my custom automap to work. I have taken the UserConfiguration.txt file and modified it, then put it in a new folder under MIDI Remote Scripts folder. But then in Live when I pick this new configuration, automap doesn't work. Automap works fine with...

yup, I debated getting the Macbook for a while, very nice looking machine. But I can't justify buying it because of the poor 3D graphic support and it would just feel strange to buy a MAC and then basically do all my production in XP. I wish more freeware developers would port their plugins over to ...
