Hi,
I use a lot of old cassette and vinyl, so my samples are often worn out and distorted.
Are there any ways to smoothen them out, make them sound like new?
Thanks!

A beginner's sampling questions
Hello,
I got this track here that I just recorded off this old cassette. It's got this really hot sample and I got a couple of questions on how to best deal with it.
1. Should I cut out the sample beforehand in Sound Forge or similar, considering it only makes out about 1% of the entire track? Or ...

Re: Keeping my projects nice and clean
Actually none of the projects have any redundant files in them, so the problem must lie elsewhere.
Also I'm talking exclusively about the .als file - the first is some 500KB, second some 900KB.

Keeping my projects nice and clean
I got two projects that are pretty much the same - an audio track with a sample, a MIDI track with a drum rack and another MIDI track with a bassline, and various plugins here and there.
But the second project is twice as big (in filesize). I based the second project off the first one though, so I ...

Tape emulation using racks
Hi,
is it possible, using racks only, to emulate classic tape machines like the Ampex valve 1/2 inch 2 track, the Otari MX5050 1/4 inch 2 track, the Teac A-350 Cassette Deck and the Hitachi 3 head Cassette deck? Kinda like the Anamod ATS-1 or whatever.
Thanks!

Re:
Hi Oddstep what I'm trying to establish is whether it is better to duplicate a midi track for the second snare and kick...or to use the drum racks method and trigger all the drum sounds on one single midi note. DO you ot agree that it would be more efficient to do the latter, as you can group as ...

This forum doesn't notify me when a reply is posted
Hi,
I always check the "Notify me when a reply is posted" when writing a post. But when a reply is posted, this forum doesn't send me any emails. Has anyone else experienced this?
Thanks!

Re: Reasonable groove values for hiphop beats
I played around with the grooves from the groove library and tweaked a few of the MPC styles which produced some nice results. Have you tried that?
I'll give it a try. I appreciate it!
what do you think of the response "use your ears, WRITE the music to your own taste."??

Reasonable groove values for hiphop beats
Hello,
can anybody recommend any reasonable groove values for hiphop beats in order to get a more natural, organic feel?
Right now I got my snares and hihats set to a 1/16 base, 0% quantize, 11% timing, 35% random and 0% velocity.
It sounds good, but does anybody know of anything better?
