You can open and save word docs on Panther and up with the included TextEdit app.

I would sync it up to Live via midi, and sequence a short note pattern (where the sound attacks at 100%). Record that as an audio clip with track monitoring on. Zoom into the newly recorded audio clip and slide the track beginning to the tip of the audio waveform. Zoom in even closer and see what th...

The way I do it is to record dry in live, with monitoring off (on the performance track view). Monitor yourself through the Mbox. Latency compensation only works this way. Also, in the audio settings, make it add 11ms, totaling 33ms. I tested my method with an external midi synthesizer, looked at th...

You turn monitoring off where it says 'monitor' on each track (performance view). Yeah, I, too was saddened to learn that latency adjustment only works this way. But if I'm recording, say, a live drum track, timing is everything. I don't want to go back and re-adjust the whole sample and go, "d...

Latency adjustment only works when monitoring is turned off.

I was playing around with beta 4 tonight, with my us-428, with all 4 input channels routed from my sequenced virus kc. Out of curiosity, I slid the latency down to 1ms and it worked with no crackles! 8O All the patterns were in time with other drum loops going. That's with Live monitoring the channe...

Nothing dampens my creativity more than that awful fan sound. My G5's fans only kick in when I'm rendering video, making music, and calculating the meaning of life, the universe, and everything.

The G5 running Live handles anything I throw at it. It's not a laptop, but it is a Mac. The G5 is super quiet, too. Also, I take into consideration the way Panther handles midi in realtime. All my apps work in complete harmony, along with my hardware synths. Add the free tool called Midipipe, and li...

So if I can run my keyboard fine through USB so there any advantage to running it through midi in this application?
There's no advantage. The real advange of the usb midi keyboard is that it (most likely) is usb powered, so there's only one cable.

I just did this test on my Dual 1.8 G5. Eight tracks plus the master with high quality reverb on each. Sometimes it spikes around 75%, then settles down to 60%. Never stutters or distorts. Since I've had this computer, Live has never failed me (I use V3). I also use a Tascam 428 for sound output.

Hi, I mentioned in another topic that my Oxy would crash my system under the latest os x unless I plugged in the Oxy first, and then powered up the system. Also, make sure you have the latest 3.1 m-audio driver. Mine works like a charm, and I can play Reason through Live with no latencey from the Ox...
