I was told that if I used an FW interface instead of my 2496 PCI card, it would be a downgrade in terms of latency, is this true?

Well actually, I run my guitar into a Korg Pandora's Box, then output the 1/4" jack into the RCA ins on my audiophile 2496. Boom, stereo.

The main reason I use live is for its capabilities with guitar!

I simply use my so-so electric guitar, and a Korg Pandoras Box for everything else.

I output the 1/4 jack out from the pandora and into my M-audio 2496 RCA ins. Of course I had to get an adapted cable to go from 1/4" to RCA.

Well, I went to the audio prefs and I am sampling at 44.1 so no dice there. As far as altency is concerned, i have it at 12ms. U think I should add more? How much more? Wouldnt that create more of a delay from the time I whack a key to when I hear it ...

A quick question about how I can improve performance when using the Ableton Live/Reason combo.

Problem is, when I have a song with about 15 or more tracks going the CPU usage meter hits up to the 75-96% range, causing glitches in playback.

Would upgrading the amount of RAM on my PC ...
