Re: Recording without a bpm/clicktrack...
I'm not so much a free spirit as an untrained musician. Music-math makes my brain hurt and metronomes activate my Manchurian candidate-programming. I'm hoping to avoid recording to say, my Tascam digi-8 track and then doing all the render/conversion work to get it into ableton. My keyboard riffs are...

Recording without a bpm/clicktrack...
Hey all. I've tried but cannot sort this one out. I want to record a riff in Ableton without a click track or bpm/beat/ measure setting, basically as if I were jamming to a tape track. Is there a way to do this? I often don't know what the bpm or time signature would be when I'm recording stuff, and...

Re: "computer midi-keyboard" not prodiucing sound...

also, is "z" & "x" how you change octaves in midi-computer keyboard mode? i keep doing this accidentally and can't figure out how to correct it!

Crackle through monitors when triggering scenes?!?!
Any suggestions/advice?? Sometimes when i trigger a scene i get a brief crackle through my monitors. It doesn't appear on the recorded track, but i can hear it live, which sucks, because i'm rehearsing for a live gig. If i trigger clips individually, i don't get the crackle. I've tried using my mous...

stupid question about set management
i've done this before, but recently tried it again without success. i compose my tracks in their own individual set (using ableton 6.10??), however i'm trying to build a "Live performance" set which would contain clips/tracks from my various songs so i can do live remixes at a show. i was ...
