Re: It;s a good time to be a Live & Reason user....

I sound like a broken record saying it, but I refuse to try Reason again until they sort it out for larger and hires displays. I used to love it back in the day, but it's painfully small these days for me.

Have you activated those outputs in Live's Audio preferences?

Re: Allowed to sell bundled Live Lite licenses?

A lot of people just give them away here, but since they are your licenses you can sell them if you can find someone willing to pay.

I'd upgrade ram if you can, that's absolutely tiny for any modern OS. Also, were you maybe getting vibrations from the sound system coming trough the laptop? Too much heat?

Re: Rendered Latency

Make sure you turn off warping on the clips when you bring them back into a new project, also that the start marker for each clip is all the way to the beginning of the clip.

Re: Catalina will break Live 9

Looking deeply into my crystal ball I predict that 98% of people out there will deal with any hiccups like they always do because the benefits of using MacOS outweigh the occasional teething issues for the majority of people who are already invested in that platform.

Re: A couple of mastering questions from a rookie

You can master either by bouncing down to a stereo file and importing to a new session, or just adding mastering processors to your master track. For the most part it really doesn't matter and is just a matter of preference. The first method is nice because you free up some CPU for your heavy hittin...

Re: Push 2 - How extensively do you use it?

For me it's mostly about sketching out ideas early on in the process, finding sounds that work well together and playing them to create a groove I like. Once I get to the arranging or mixing phase, I switch to the laptop though as I just find it easier to use the mouse/trackpad for the detailed stuff.

Re: Doing my first re-edits - how much do I need to learn about eqing and mastering?

You definitely don't NEED to worry about mastering and what not for this, especially since you're editing tracks that have already been mastered. If you now make your edits and they sound good enough to you in your sets, then by all means keep it simple and just work that way. You can always slowly ...
