Re: Art installation using Maxforlive
I have really admired that program now for some time. I would indeed be very much interested in talking more about this and potentially exploring opportunities to work with them. Indeed, I am overjoyed to have this talk today

Re: Art installation using Maxforlive
Very nice exhibit! Let me say that I really appreciate the work that you're doing. I grew up in Pittsburgh and went to CMU so it's great to see a work like yours that incorporates and promotes technology and the arts. Thanks :) I'll be right down the street on campus in early April so I'll definite...

Re: Art installation using Maxforlive
Hey looks great! Good work. Do you have any more info about the build, the diffusing blocks, type of lights used? Thanks :) Here's some pix of the development process, from my website: http://ianbrill.drupalgardens.com/content/plume-construction-images I used interlocking slats made from corrugated...

Re: Art installation using Maxforlive
That's pretty sweet. They should have stations housed like that in the arctic. :) Pretty simple/ small patch or not so much? Not really that small of a patch. It ended up being an amalgam of three patches- one which I've been working since 2010, one from late 2012 and part of another that a collabo...

Also, here's an outside view of it, without audio.

I first got into Jitter here, via a convo with Machinate, somewhere around 2006. It's wild to think about how maxforlive really became a thing after being a dream for so long

Art installation using Maxforlive
In case anyone is interested, I have a somewhat ambitious art installation up in Pittsburgh at the moment that uses maxforlive. It's a 20' diameter, 10' high, flat-packable dome, consisting of 560 led clusters and a custom 8.1 surround system, driven exclusively by generative programming in max, and...

Tascam FW-1884
Has anyone had any success running a Tascam FW1884 with Live 9 on 10.8.5? Since live appears to be running in 32-bit mode, there seems to be a chance that things will still work...! Got to run to storage and test this... Can't believe they discontinued driver support. Will never buy another Tascam p...

Re: Arduino and M4L question (quite urgent...)
I did a bunch of stuff in grad-school with maxuino, around 2010. I was able to get things running without too much trouble. It shouldn't be a big deal. It's definitely the fastest, most documented method.

Re: Hello! Decided to build an RPG - help is appreciated!
Hi Cosm, I don't have maxforlive or live installed on any available computer atm, but I think I might have made a crude workaround for what you are describing in an early practice patch I made when it was first released: http://dl.dropbox.com/u/3579622/floating%20session%20matrix.amxd If it was a ma...

Re: Who has dared to follow their Ableton passion?
I've followed various ableton passions over the years. It' a great kit. I've made somewhat of a serpentine path around actually dj'ing with it in a large capacity, but it has led me to collaborate on a series of interesting interactive installations, performances and collaborations. While on one han...
