Re: Live 11 is coming !!!
Please, Bounce in Place Disable and Hide Tracks Multi Clip fade, trim Midi Note Split Slice clips by grid/transient in arrangement window and I am done :) If that's you're preferred workflow, I use another DAW that does this sort of stuff so amazingly well. Hint: Grim and on that cheeky note, I bet...

Re: Push 2 Performance: Some Opportunities...please weigh in
The Ableton monopoly (even on their own hardware) is over, and they only have themselves to blame. How so? Just curious. Not worded brilliantly, but just a butthurt way of pointing out that Push can be used with other DAW's, and that development on Live+Push has been lacking. Actually there i...

Re: Push2 vs Midi Keyboard
It's more true the other way around.
If you have a Push only, you'll likely soon find out you need a midi keyboard to go with it.
The keyboard is necessity, the Push is a luxury.

Re: alternatives to Ableton
I learned Reaper over the last coupla years to see what it can do with my Push, and just be in a different environment. (Live's load time also had something to do with it  ) It's cheap and ugly, and does a lot. Loads quickly and is stable. Good hardware support. Takes a while to learn because ...

Re: My other DAW makes better use of Push
I have spent like, a year getting Reaper the way I want. It's like the opposite of Live in terms of set up. LOTS of things to change. so many menus. I wouldn't expect anyone else to bother doing that, I find it fun though. I have emulated the Live midi editor (and everything else) as much as i...

Re: Way to lock push on one instrument for note mode?
What's that daw and what's the trick that lets you use push? I thought Push was 'handshaken' to play only with live. Reaper. There is a script available for using Push, and it works without the issue described in this thread. Armed tracks remain armed on the pads, when tweaking other channels and d...

Re: Way to lock push on one instrument for note mode?
I have found a solution in the interim. Use another DAW that makes better use of Push. Sad, but true.

Re: Push 2 Performance: Some Opportunities...please weigh in
I like letting off some steam every couple of years on this, but i gotta be realistic. It's pretty clear from the the amount of time passed, and lack of any small meaningful improvements over the course of nearly a decade, that we are stuck with it the way it is. It appears development was completed...

Re: My other DAW makes better use of Push
Instead of trying to force Ableton to fit into your workflow, use it as it is, and adjust, educate yourself, learn and move on. Surely you do not buy stuff, to make it work the way you want, you should buy and use it how its intended and made. Square peg round hole. I have my Ableton workflow which...

Re: My other DAW makes better use of Push
come on, you haven't taken in a word I've said. The solution to this is not aquiring more gear.
It's just Ableton making it better. That's my "mental attitude" on this.
sorry I upset you.

Ah I see.Mark Williams wrote: ↑Sun May 24, 2020 3:44 pmNope, but then again I use hardware FX or a specific plugin controller for that
Well, as you're here, you might as well try and get some experience of the specific problem.

Re: My other DAW makes better use of Push
Have you never recorded a pass while adjusting feedback on the delay FX return (for example)? That's a basic and common producer move. It can't be done from Push alone in one pass. The pads go blank when the return is selected, and you gotta do 2 passes. One for notes, and one for automation. No spo...

Re: My other DAW makes better use of Push
VST auto mapping works SOME of the time, and the way "autofocus" works is a hindrance. An armed channel should remain armed, unless it is disarmed. Every basic midi keyboard does this, but the Push does not. You need to reach for your keyboard once you select a return, as the pads go dead....
