That's pretty much what clipping is when the signal is too hot. Why do you need the peaks to be in the red above 0db? You cannot render that without clipping.rufiooo2 wrote:it has been automatically limited (so no peaks are above 0dB), even though no plugins are on the master channel strip

Re: Izotope Iris
I decided not to buy it for now. One thing I was thinking about is, selecting/enhancing horizontal areas of the spectrum, couldn't you get a similar effect by just using a comb filter? I haven't compared side by side though. Being able to draw curvy shapes along the spectrum seemed more of a novelty...

Re: Hating Lion and going backwards?
I like the "iOS" type features they've integrated into Lion. The main thing is the new set of gestures that you can do with the trackpad. But if you don't like them, it's easy to turn them off in system prefs. I think the swiping gestures really speed things up when using internet browser ...

Re: Izotope Iris
Last day for the sale. I couldn't find any clicking noises but maybe I'm not doing the right thing to reproduce it. I just went into preferences & checked Radius RT quality mode, no clicking even at the beginning & end of the samples while looping. I could get clicking if I adjusted the spec...

Re: omg, I just downloaded the D-cam Synth Squad Demo.. And
I liked Amber, but the rest were kind of redundant of what I already have. CPU use was a little high but probably a good bundle for someone who doesn't have a lot of synth plugins already. I wish they sold Amber separately.

Re: Reason?
I sold it back around version 2.5 or 3. I couldn't see anything about Reason that I couldn't just do the same thing in Live a little more efficiently & not have to bother with rewire. I thought that there was a lot of scrolling/waste of screen space as well, the comment about the empty racks dom...

Re: KORG RADIAS HARDWARE LATTENCY PROBLEM!!
Make a midi clip, draw 1/4 notes on each downbeat. Send the notes out to your synth & record the audio back in on an audio track. Zoom in the audio file & notice the delay of each note from the downbeat. Put this as a negative value under the midi track's delay. Repeat to double check that t...

Re: Answers is useless - please reopen Users Help Exchange
I just checked it for the first time. What use is having the answers section there for everyone to see without any search function or sub categories? I guess you've got to post a new one every time, no matter how many times it's been answered unless you want to browse through 81 pages manually &...

Problems extracting grooves
I'm trying to extract grooves from some midi clips for the first time. I right click on the midi clip & select extract groove but nothing happens. Also tried dragging the midi clip into the the Grooves folder of the library (I guess this is the "Groove Pool"? But this just makes an .al...

Re: Ableton being hilarious...
I read this too the other day. Couldn't tell if there was a small possibility of it not being a joke or not actually, thought maybe that could be done somehow with the buffer & lookahead? Guess not... I'm hearing the same thing between the FF1 & FF2 models. FF2 sounds a little edgier & p...

Re: Export midi clip creates 2 items?
Here's the thing, I'm making a library of a bunch of midi clips. If I rename each one, the one inside doesn't match the name & it won't allow me to rename the one inside. Just don't understand the purpose of it unfolding & another one being inside.

Export midi clip creates 2 items?
Right click on a midi clip, select export midi clip & save it in a folder. When you navigate to it in Live's browser there's a triangle next to it with the exact same midi clip inside of the file. Why is there a duplicate inside? I don't see 2 files when I view it in the OSX browser.

Huh? iTunes is AAC & ubiquitous for music downloads...looprication wrote:People are comfortable with the options they've already been given, e.g., HQ mp3, lower quality MP3 (yuck) and WAV. Anything else and you're bucking the trend.

Re: Using a template or no template?
I have a template which it's main purpose is for all my faderfox midi mappings. Some of Live's effects are on the sends, pre-mapped to one of the faderfoxes. EQ8 and an effects/instrument rack on each track. Also saved in the template are my favorite crossfader curve, crossfade assign for 2 of the t...

Re: Audio interfaces with 4 separate inputs?
Komplete Audio 6 But if you can afford it, step up to the RME Babyface instead, you'll be much less likely to grow out of it. More routing flexibility, direct monitoring of the digital inputs, DSP effects, smaller form factor, carry case, better sounding converters & digital clock. I have both. ...
