Re: This is SweatHop Vol.1 (dubstep/glitchhop/bass)

Agreed, good production, nice sub bass and it sits well in the mix. Could only listen to the first 2 tracks, and I liked Dilated to Meat You better than the first one - more dynamic bass line. Nice work!

Re: Dirty Dirty Dubstep

Good track man, like the bass variations, just think it could use some sub bass to fatten the very low end - bring in that, and for me, it sound pretty dope!

What synth did you use for the bass line? Nice work though!

Re: Ypsi Kid - The Land Down Under - Dub Techno

I went to Eastern from '94-'99 and that's where I cut my teeth on electronic music. Many weekends were spent in Detroit at some great parties and learned a lot about quality music! Still have good friends who live there. I'm surprised more people don't ask. When I moved back to Canada a friend start...

Ypsi Kid - The Land Down Under - Dub Techno

New dub techno track that I'm really happy with. Made the synth patch from scratch using some of the techniques that jeskola has on his massive synth blog along with some experimentation. Any feedback welcomed (the kick may sit a little further back than what I'd like). The Land Down Under (Bunker M...

Agreed - great site for massive tutorials. Props to jeskola on this one as he does a great job explaining things and gets you thinking how you can take the techniques to another level - great stuff!

Ypsi Kid - Synapse of a Nebula - dubstep

Just experimenting with slower dubstep. Pretty chilled out vibe, still needs a bit of mastering work but liking the overall direction. Let me know what you think!

Re: slow techno = tech house??

I think music is subjective and personal, so house to one person could be techno to the other - all depends on your level of knowledge and experience. Whoever said that house = techno is right from a historic perspective (house = anything played in a wareHOUSE). This was coined back in the very earl...

Re: Live doesn't see installed IK instruments

I had the same issue with T- RacKS and just had to be sure I ran live as administrator (even though I had it checked off in options). First the folder wouldn't show up under The VST folder - once I ran as administrator, the folder showed up. I also ran into a problem today when trying to run the plu...

Ypsi Kid - new dub techno track

Really been enjoying Jeskola's massive tutorials and ended up completing a rough draft of the below track in one day. Bass, stab, pad and noise were all created from scratch in massive and sequenced in ableton and I used drums from the new d16 sample pack - plasticlicks. Let me know what you guys th...

Re: New Dub Techno Track

Thanks Dego! What an experience, wouldn't have changed anything for the world! I'm getting to understand these lapses now too, I tend to listen to a ton of music in this time which also helps when the writing starts again. Thanks for the feedback man, appreciate it. The bassline is not quantized, so...

New Dub Techno Track

Something I just finished up that was inspired by the birth of my new baby boy. Levels may need some adjusting, but I really like the over all mood and flow of the track. Check it out and let me know what you guys think - cheers! Feels good to be back in the studio, took a bit of a hiatus as I was n...

Interesting mix of styles man, I like it! The mix down sounds decent on ear buds at work and the elements do work well together. liking where this is going.
