how to change a drum kit of a vst when firering a new scene
the plan is this: In a project that is hosting all the songs of one performance; Song A his having Scences 1-20, Song B is having Scenes 30-50 etc ... The drums are played with 'addictive drums', because I like the 'noisy' kits. I want to use a different kits for every song but maintained during all...

Re: How Would You Export A Project Structure As Text?
@H20nly:
so how do I unwrap the secrets of the .log file to get the session_view infos into a text format?
I cannot find any clip_details in that file …
at least not searching for the name of the clips in that file.
What do I have to look for?

Re: How Would You Export A Project Structure As Text?
it is because the project is larger than the screen and I suffer from a goldfish memory span [~3sec] so I really ask for a solution here. can the 'session view' be exported as xml, text or anything digestible? if this is not possible: okay, then be it. just say it. I'll write it down with a pencil o...

midi file name disorder - how would you treat this disease?
I have a couple of midi files renamed in the finder e.g. - Drum1 - Drum2 - Drum3 but when I drag/import the files into my DAW the name that appears for the clip is often totally different. So the question: How can I edit the mid file name that appears in the DAW (Logic/Live) outside of those? I am f...

Re: How Would You Export A Project Structure As Text?
Screenshots that's what i was thinking. either that, or learn to read the log files. screenshots don't help. as for the log file: I understand that it is to be in ~user/Library/Preferences/Ableton/Live 9.0.6, named as 'Log.txt' so how could I find the track/clip for my project I don't see an...

Re: How Would You Export A Project Structure As Text?
just because.
It is a project with *a lot of* clips and I'd love to see all at once, printed out, pinned on my wall.
I really wonder that this has not come up in all the years of Lives history.

How Would You Export A Project Structure As Text?
okay, so I have been a good boy and got my project organised. All the clips in my set are properly named, and now I would love to export this in information as a text file or in an other format that allows my to look at it off screen. It would be ideal to export/print the browser with all the conten...

Re: Midi library solution for better workflow in Live????
you could use the EzPLayer. It stores a Library in its ~userlib/ApplicationSupport folder where you can add own midi files once you've figured out the somewhat cryptic file naming they use for organizing stuff. you then use the PlugIn in Live that plays back its catalogue (the above mentioned folder...

Re: create a chord progression to a vocal line ?
music is logic. a major scale in chords is Imaj IImin IIImin IVmaj Vseventh VIminor VIIdiminished. I tonic is the key. then there is the IV subdominant, and the V dominant. these are the backbone, you can harmonize all melodies with them... their substitutes are VIminor(I), IIminor(IV) and IIIminor(...

lives midi mapping is thinking in strange ways ...
okay, here we go: i am trying to make a direct mapping coming from an ipodtouch with OSC (what enables you to design your own control surfaces; great piece of software) through max/msp, sending midi information (pitch/velocity/duration/channel) to live and everything is a.okay. but once in a while t...
