Has anyone experienced problems with unwanted MIDI loop in Live?

Any suggestions to avoid it.

Stupid question, but......

Is there freeware out there that will convert my aiffs to mp3 files?

Guess I'm being stupid, but.......... I can get midi into live with the computer keyboard by selecting the 'computer keyboard' in the MIDI FROM panel, but I can't get it to see my MIDI'd up keyboard (Roland PC160).
