Re: Max For Live's ARP out of sync
To get around the issue, record the audio from the messed up midi track (when you get it working) in real time. Create a new audio track, set its input as the dodgy track and record the entirety. Mute the midi track and bounce using the new audio track. If you need to tweak, adjust the midi track an...

Re: Live 9.5 crashes/issues
I'm currently experiencing this issue using OSX 10.10. 9.5 reliably crashes when trying to open a drum rack created by slicing an audio / rx2 loop using 9.2.3 or older versions. As soon as one of these racks is dragged in 9.5 is kaput. I've flagged this to support. Fingers crossed they can figure it...

Re: So last week I Purchased Ableton Suite...
You decided Ableton was worth full price to you at the time. You either need to be more thrifty next time and wait for a discount, or man up and take the blow.

Or why not add a new empty track, set it to resample - or send your mix as a group to it - hit record then come back 3hrz later?

Re: how to tune inharmonic sounds in FM synthesis
Either use the transpose setting to pull the note back to the right key, sample the sound out and plop it into sampler, learn to make sounds that stay in tune, or embrace the fact that not all sounds you make in Operator will be 'playable'. Some of those great sounds you can get out of it are precis...

Re: Is there a way to cut and paste an entire section of a track
You can also use a loop brace to mark an area for editing - copying / deleting etc. If you yank the brace over the area then (if I remember correctly) right click the brace itself it'll come up with with a context sensitive menu.

Re: WTF: Alesis IO26 MIDI ports lighting Micron LEDS
MIDI can pass 5v between things - hence the 5 pins when MIDI data itself only uses 2. Maybe the designers of the Ion that didn't take that into account (or did, maybe the Ion can still be used as a thru when off or something) when designing the circuit board.

Re: Why is 8.2.5 smaller in size than my previous versions?
Eh. On the download page it states that if you have 8.2.1 (if I remember rightly) you don't need to download the full version. The Default Packages section you poked around in is what Live uses to install the Library the first time you run it. ie if you've just bought Live you'd want this for it to ...

Re: Forced to bounce realtime for no reason !?!?!
If you have the time and energy, delete tracks one by one and start bouncing (obv just briefly) until it stops. Or delete one half of the tracks, bounce, then the other half, bounce, then keep breaking them down in halves until you have the offender. that'll whittle down which track is affected and ...

Re: Stereo Send Problem
Aye by default Guitar Rig expects a mono input - ie your guitar connected to your interface, not to be used as an effects box further down the line.
It's either that or it boosts noise on an empty input / channel and non-techy guitarists get all confused as to why.

Re: What exactly did happen to 8.2.4?
I'd hardly call it abandoning the .2.4 beta.
They've given it a new increment - the .5 makes sense as it's a serious hike to jig Ableton for Lion.
However .4 must've still been buggy, hence the lack of release.
Don't get het up with the terminology, basically they're still working on it.

Re: Possible bug?? Audio files go above zero when loaded in Live
Try turning warp off.
When you warp audio with whatever setting, even keeping it at original tempo, warping distorts the audio. Not in a guitar amp fashion, but enough to create new peaks.
As mentioned, when warping, turn it down a bit to compensate.

Re: Answer to Akai MPK49 midi compatability issue with APC40
It's because developers don't bother to create bespoke drivers for their products. Don't get me wrong, it's great in theory to run off core drivers- it's just plug and play, guaranteed compatibility. Yet when everything revolves around the same driver things start coming undone quickly with conflicts.

Try using Elektron's C6 application. It's not specific to Elektron Machines, and there's no installation required. Just fire it up, set your MIDI ports, drop the SYSEX into it and send.

Ben Binary - Yes. You hit record in the bottom left, wiggle the node about, then hit record again to stop it. Then in the top set of menus you hit a button called something like "assign" - I think it's the 2nd one along, sorry I've not got my iPad handy at the mo - and slide your finger to...
