Re: AKAI MPD218 midi script

Hi, managed to write a script for the MPD218 with a tutorial so focus mode (blue hand) works with all the Macros. Here's the link for anyone looking for a script. I also included the MPD218 preset that goes with the script. https://drive.google.com/drive/folders/1E4rq2moKnJ-wxoqWjKL1lTSsANKg64WK?usp...

AKAI MPD218 midi script

Hi! Trying to get my 12-year old son into music and Ableton (long time user myself) and just got him an AKAI MPD218. I can't seem to fins any scripts that work with Ableton 11 so the blue hand works. Just made him a couple of 128's drum racks and it would be great to be able to choose drums with the...

Re: THE NEW BIG USER REQUESTS TOPIC FOR LIVE9!!!!

Send/Receive midi on multiple midi channels. (no midi filtering to channel 1) Currently everything gets filtered to midi channel 1 internally. Some plugins (like Guru) work with midi cc's on several channels at once to get access to all parameters and controls. There's no smart workaround to get it ...

Some video bugs 8.09

Hi I just found e few bugs while working with video clips 1. Double clicking the video window crashes Live 2. Video playback stops working very often and will only work again by importing the video clip back into Live or Re-starting Live. 3. Renaming a duplicate file in the browser isn't working pro...

Re: KICK DRUM SAMPLES - RECOMMEND A COMPREHENSIVE COLLECTION?

The nerdy way of getting the kick you want. :D Take a basic kick sample. (808, 909 etc) Compress it with slow attack, fast release 4:1 or harder. Filter it to taste and keep this kick for Attack and punch. Layer it with a simple Sinus wave from analog (or a long 808/909 sample tuned to the track) Th...

INSTRUMENTS Sampler/Simpler 1. Previewing samples in context (when the music plays). My personal No.1 priority. Just click on the sample swap button and browse through your library to hear samples previewing instantly through your track fx and sampler/simpler settings. (like filter, mods etc) At th...

Modifying Sampler/drumracks

Hi, I don't know anything about Max/Dsp, but I just wanted to see if you can build or modify Live's instruments? I love the flexibility of Fxpansions Guru over Live's sampler, specially when you can audition samples "in place" :listen to new samples through active VST fx you got when picki...

Re: Kick/Bass Compression?

You have to separate them with eq, then add a sidechain compressor to the kick. Then bus them together to a drum sub and add another compressor to get them to glue. My tip would be to get the bassline sounding the way you like it, and then pick a kick sample that'll go with the bass. Don't forget th...

Re: OT: What's your best or secret BBQ marinade?

Check out the rednecks at youtube: "BBQ pit boys" They got some great recipes, we did the country style ribs the other day and they rocked! Really easy as well! 8) Just boil some nice thick ribs in your favourite bbq sauce for an hour (in the kitchen oven) and then finish them on the ol' b...

+1 Love to able to control sampler/simpler when I work with my midi controller and drum racks. Since there's no way to re-arrange the automaps for ableton devices, this is the way to go +111111

Thx for the reply! I got it working that far. It would just be great to have it fully working with automap.

Instant Mapping (advanced)

Hi, I'm just getting into instant mapping with Live 8 and I just got a few questions. I'm used to working with Guru, and I'd like Live to replace my "mpc/guru" drum needs with instant mapping. So far it works great with the 8 macros (love the instant mapping!!), but it's not enough for sam...

Re: Making samples more alive!

For shakers/hats etc, use the envelopes and adjust to taste: Pitch (fine), Sample start and sometimes length and filter cutoff. Start with every 8th and just use what sounds best to the music you're doing. For Snares/claps, use your sampled snare and layer it with another "loose" played cl...

Previewing samples in "context" (SImpler/Sampler)

Hi just got Live 8 this week and I love it! Love all the new features, the added midi functions and specially the supported drag and drop between Live and Guru. Thanks for a great program and keep up the good work! :D Here's a few suggestios for Drum racks in the future. 1. Previewing samples in &qu...
