Re: M4L Launchpad Sequencers and User2 Mode not working
hi - same problem running live 9.0.3 on a mac. it seems to me that the launchpad should sort of qualify as an ableton device, btw...the unit carries their logo on it.

Re: Best Modular Synth
nobody's mentioned bidule (since the initial post, anyway) - amazing (and relatively inexpensive) program. very similar to max, imo, but one thing that i love about it is that it lets you run vst/au modules within your patches...

Re: How is Touchosc on a iPod?
i really like it...haven't had any problems. i usually use it via osculator (free) with plogue bidule, though...haven't used it with ableton that much. definitely useful to have a small, versatile, easy-to-carry controller...i've even used it for gigs. my only gripe would be that it takes some getti...

Re: Live8.1.3 recording Gleetchlab3?
gleetchlab has its own built-in recorder (at the top - to the left of 'tempo')...otherwise you could try using soundflower (or something similar) to route the audio into an ableton audio track.

Re: MY ULTRALITE JUST WENT NUCKING FUTS!
had the same problem (freezing with meters going nuts and a high-pitched egg-frying sound) on a macbook. also had knobs not working, the display getting so dim that i had to build an enclosure for it in order to see what was going on , 'CPU not found' and other garbled messages on startup...this was...

Re: Alva Noto sound design?
yeah...gleetchlab is a blast. what i meant earlier was that i stick contact mics on my laptop/external harddrive, and have the inputs (typically 4) going into whatever software program i'm using (which is often gleetchlab , as a matter of fact) where i'm processing the sound in real-time...it's kind...

Re: Alva Noto sound design?
actually...a cool thing to do is to contact mic my laptop - kind of a weird way of 'playing' it...'ironic commentary on laptop music' and blah-dee-blah, but it makes some really interesting sounds as well.
