Re: Sidechaining from midi or audio

I almost always side chain from a dummy kick as this gives me the option of sidechaining even when the kick isn't playing. Also, if your kick is dynamic, a dummy kick will give you uniform ducking. The most common use of sidechain compression is ducking other elements to let the kick through. Try sl...

Re: Drive Soundtrack

Thanks for the feedback guys. I don't have much outboard gear. I tried Wow n Flutter VST but it doesn't work on Win 7 64. I could probably pick up a 4 track cheap.

I've never heard of College. *Opens Youtube*

Drive Soundtrack

I watched Drive recently and was blown away by the soundtrack. The loose timing, lush synths, minimalist composition and DIY production just sounds so 1980s chic. I just had to explore the genre. Here is my first attempt: http://soundcloud.com/vance-soundcloud/save-the-lance-vance I think it's a goo...

Re: Using Maschine to control Simpler....

1. Put mashine in midi mode.
2. Put ableton in midi learn mode.
3. Click on a controll in simpler.
4. Move knob on maschine (not all knobs are midi mappable).
Repeat steps 3 and 4.

You may want to make your own maschine template with the controller editor.

I had the same problem with my mpd32 when I had my launchpad connected. I just hooked up the mpd with midi leads. Problem solved.

Re: Encoporating An Effects Unit Into Live Performance

Yes. Though you may need to buy some cables. Set up an empty audio track and load an external audio effect plug. Set the output to your spare set of outs and input to your trs ins. Route all tracks(if that's what you want) to this track. Set monitor to in.

Press the red button on the transport bar. If you have a parameter automated and you then adjust that parameter directly you will overwrite the automation.

Re: Switching between multiple midi maps

Make sure you are in the session view. Press control+m to open up midi map mode. On the right hand side under the scene launch buttons you should see some arrows, a play button and a stop button. Map these to your controller. Press control+m to leave midi map mode. You should now be able to scroll u...

Re: Basic NI Komplete question

I don't have komplete but usually when you run the installer you are prompted to select your vst folder and the installer will do the rest. I'd try a re-install and make sure you select the correct folders.
