I see your opinions. See that you like them generally. I say again, though it maybe strange, I hear their weakness regardless to gui, settings or presets. I'm sure it's due to weak algorithms they use maybe to be more cpu effective. I can't say it about Live as a DAW because audio mixdown is not tha...

Re: Do you like the Live Instruments?
Even with a sine oscillator, operator, some tune, melodies with just sine oscillator (maybe with some delays), operator sounds really weak comparing, to, say, Reaktor sin osc. I don't know how to explain that. NI sounds much clearer and detailed and sharp. Again, really wonder that you love Live sou...

Do you like the Live Instruments?
Don't want to offend anyone, I love Ableton Live in general, but I found the sound quality of Live Instruments awful in the mix, compared to NI, Arturia or Korg VST's. They are cool integrated, nice gui, sure one can make excellent music with them, but anyway... Same as with Reason - great software,...

Re: mp3 to wav temporary decoding, what for?
I just learned to avoid the cache conversions etc and I convert any mp3s I use in my DJ sets to WAV first before inserting them into Live. That way I actually save space - by not having both mp3 and wav on my hard drive - and my Live set clips load very fast. I see, this is the way to go. Though it...

Re: mp3 to wav temporary decoding, what for?
I see something very buggy happen. I added about 11 mp3 songs to three channels and all I see it is converting and converting... there already more then 40 wav version of them with 1, 2, 3 indexes. I set custom folder for decoding cache, limit it to 1,10 gigabytes, but this preference does not work ...

mp3 to wav temporary decoding, what for?
I'm curious, why live starts decoding the mp3 file in background while already playing it? The song file I don't need to be edited, just played.

Arpeggiator, Hold - nonstandard behaviour
In hold mode (you can assign a sustain pedal to it) all standard arpeggiators will ADD notes to pattern not switching off the notes taken before (as if you hold all of them by fingers). If you take off the sustain pedal, only the notes you still hold with your fingers should stay in the pattern. I r...

Couple of sketches, .alp files
Just learning the Live, made two sketches, no breaks between parts, poor production, just some sound. Only internal instruments, very small .alp files. Too lazy to go deeper, but want someone to listen to it, so please ) http://pianopictures.com/files/Trancy.alp http://pianopictures.com/files/Spyder...

Envelopes quantization
Currently to make one single envelope point placed exactly on a grid line, I draw something near that grid in "draw mode", then delete unnecessary 3 poins, leaving just one I needed. I'd expect the envelope points to have the same behaviour as notes - untill the "fixed grid" is e...

Sustain pedal in MIDI clips behaviour bug
When you end your MIDI clip record still holding a sustain pedal and then play that clip and make it stop at it's end the final sounds will be sustained forever, until you press and release the sustain for that channel. Same thing if you use sustain somewhere between, say, 1 and 2-nd bar of your 2-b...

Event smoother for knobs in Live
When I turn, say, a filter knob, mapped to a midi controller i can hear an unwanted "steps" in sound because of a nature of a common 128 steps of this controller. Same when I do it with a mouse. I'd like to see kind of event smoother for all the Live's knobs. It can be set in global prefer...
